Alberto Del Rio vs. Big Show (LMS Match) Discussion

Now at Royal Rumble, Del Rio will defend his newly acquired World Title against The World’s Largest Athlete, who’s thirsty for retribution. And if the last showdown is any indication, everybody better brace themselves for absolute destruction.
It was the Jan. 11 edition of SmackDown when Del Rio rose to the top of the mountain in style. After enduring the full wrath of the reigning champion — in a brutal Last Man Standing Match that incorporated steel chairs, tables and steel ring steps and turned the ringside barricade in to slivers — the crafty No. 1 contender trapped the war-torn World’s Largest Athlete under the heavy announce table. This prevented the giant from answering the 10-count and earned Del Rio his monumental third World Championship.
On the 20th Anniversary of Monday Night Raw, the furious Big Show confronted WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon, protesting the lack of time he was given to prepare for the title contest. While the emerging Del Rio proposed to settle things with an impromptu rematch right then and there, Big Show preferred to settle things at the upcoming pay-per-view.
Getting back at The World’s Largest Athlete for the weeks of torment he suffered at the giant's hands, Ricardo Rodriguez threw a bucket of red, white and green confetti onto the former World Heavyweight Champion, triggering a fierce brawl between Big Show and Del Rio that ended with the champion on top. This set the stage for a Royal Rumble collision of cataclysmic proportions.
Who will walk out of US Airways Center in Phoenix with the World Heavyweight Title? Find out Sunday, Jan. 27, at 8 ET/5 PT, only on pay-per-view.
Re: Alberto Del Rio vs. Big Show (World Heavyweight Championship Match) Discussion
I see ADR winning this one. Highly unlikely that Big Show gets the title back. And don't get me wrong here, because I really want Ziggler to cash in his Money in the Bank and I think he's ready, but I actually hope that he doesn't here. I can't believe I am saying this, but I am finding that I am interested in ADR as World Heavyweight Champion and I want WWE to give it some time and see where it goes. Ziggler still has until July to cash in. Let ADR try to do something with this reign.
Re: Alberto Del Rio vs. Big Show (World Heavyweight Championship Match) Discussion
I was surprised to see Big Show lose the title so fast, he seemed primed to hold onto it for a while after some impressive wins over Sheamus after becoming champion of the world. With that said, I believe Alberto Del Rio will probably come out of Royal Rumble with his World Championship mainly because he seems determined to leave a mark on the sport and he has worked so hard to win the belt over the past year. Sheamus had the belt 8 months and I believe that Del Rio could potentially rival a run like that if he remains healthy and really wrestles smart. So my prediction for this contest is Alberto Del Rio, who will probably hold the belt beyond WrestleMania at some point (May-June).
Major (World) Championships I recognize/follow
World Heavyweight Championship (as of 2009)
WWE Championship (as of 2009)
ROH World Championship (since inception)
IWGP Heavyweight Championship (since inception)

Ziggler needs to stay away from the title scene at least until after Wrestlemania. Alberto should be the hottest new face if the WWE doesn't screw it up.
