As much as people shit on celebrities, they were one of the main factors which made WrestleMania 1 a success.
The problem with some recent WM's is they celebrities they have gotten. Like Mr. T was a legit tv star.Cyndi Lauper was a legit huge pop star in the 80s. Giving Snooki and Maria Muenenos WM matches is the equivalent to if WWE would have given the hooker who had sex with Jimmy Swaggart,The Where's The Beef Lady or some random Entertainment Weekly Reporter no one will remember 10 years later a match.
I know Bruno was once "the man" the face of an era and money maker but he turned his back on the business whilist Mick Foley has given everything and more to the WWE the fact Foley isn't headlining his own Hall of Fame is appalling to me as a fan.
Bruno never turned his back on the business. He loves the business & his fans. He turned his back on WWE & had just cause. There's a huge, huge difference. He still made appearances, on shows like Ring of Honor.
And to be completely honest, I don't really feel like Mick Foley is a Hall of Fame headliner kind of guy. He took big dumb bumps & then turned into a comedy character. Great promo, no doubt, & Cactus Jack was a good character. So was early Mankind. I think Foley himself would even give the honor to Bruno though. Who is the business wants to be the guy to step on Bruno's toes? Seriously.
Have there been any rumours yet about a deceased wrestler being inducted? WWE sometimes seemed to decide on their inductions rather late, so I guess having Paul Bearer join the HOF this year can be a very real possibility.
