Re: Official Royal Rumble Match Discussion Thread

Not really looking forward to the Rumble just because I can't stand the potential winners. Cena, Sheamus and Ryback?

I will be happy if Cesaro gets a decent amount of time to show DAT STRENGTH. Possibly throwing a big man over the top by himself. Throw in a few actual surprise entrants and we're good. By surprise I don't mean re-hashed returns such as Piper, Duggan, Slaughter.

Would mark if I heard this theme.

Rumble hasn't been built well, and the current participants aren't exciting. I'm torn between Ryback and Cena winning. Cena makes the most sense (unfortunately) since it's strange to win the Rumble and not want to go after Rock (who will likely have the belt going in to Mania).

So who is the best dark horse? And I mean someone who could make a good winner but no one thinks will win.

Ziggler is my guess. Losing to Cena over and over, maybe to shield us from seeing his victory.

Re: Official Royal Rumble Match Discussion Thread

Cena does seem to be the most logical choice to win the Rumble, in order to set up a rematch with The Rock, but I wonder if they might hold off for a bit and have Cena earn his rematch with Rock in some other way. Perhaps at Elimination Chamber? You know, to keep the "suspense" going? Leave some questions still unanswered? If Cena doesn't win, then a Ryback win seems very possible. Not buying the Sheamus thing, though. I don't think he has a chance.

Re: Official Royal Rumble Match Discussion Thread

This is something to get you hyped for any Royal Rumble match. We know that WWE have a phenomenal production team that put together some great video packages & commercials to hype up the big matches and PPVs. I am currently watching the 2005 Royal Rumble event and I must say I liked the theme they chose for the show and how they put together this stellar video package:

I also like the one they have with all of the Rumble statistics:

ALL I'M REALLY ASKING FOR IS YOU

Re: Official Royal Rumble Match Discussion Thread

So who is starting the Rumble off? Some years they put good friends against one another, like Eddie and Benoit in 2005. Or when HBK and Taker started in 2008 after ending the previous one. Rey and Cara starting would be a nice start, or maybe Sandow and Rhodes. However, I think Kane and Bryan starting would be the best option.

Re: Official Royal Rumble Match Discussion Thread

Everyones seems so sure that Ryback or Cena is winning the rumble. Same with Orton & Sheamus too, but I got a feeling none of those guys will win and WWE has a suprise in stored for us.

Proud mark and supporter of Triple H. All of his wins are well deserved and he has earned his spot. Theres nothing you guys can do about it. Haters can suck it.

My 10 Favorite Wrestlers of all Time
1. Stone Cold Steve Austin
2. Shawn Michaels
3. Chris Jericho
4. Triple H
5. Edge
6. Undertaker
7. The Rock

The Miz now in the rumble since he announced on commentary on Main Event.

So is this the new trend to get in the Rumble match? Say I will be in it and thats it?

The days of actually winning qualifying matches are looooooooong gone. Now it's the first 30 to say they're in, get in.

I'm watching you...

Re: Official Royal Rumble Match Discussion Thread

John Cena is coming off the worst year of his life in his career storyline wise. If that's not a build up to winning the Rumble, I don't know what is. He hasn't been WWE Champion for 15 months, he lost to the Rock is what he considered to be the biggest match of his life, and he got his ass kicked by Lesnar. I'll say this right now:

Punk vs. Rock will close the show. Cena will win the Rumble earlier in the night. Rock beats Punk setting Punk free to have his scheduled match with the Undertaker at Mania. The show ends with a Cena/Rock staredown, implying we're getting Cena/Rock II. It's a foregone conclusion we're getting Cena/Rock II for the title at Mania. The ONLY way that match makes sense is Rock winning the title and Cena winning the Rumble.

So, here's what your WrestleMania card is going to look like:

Cena vs. Rock II for the title
Punk vs. Undertaker for the Streak
Lesnar vs. Triple H II in some sort of gimmick match for Triple H to get revenge
Sheamus vs. Randy Orton for the World Heavyweight Title
Ryback vs. Big Show to put over Ryback

Look at me dead in the face and tell me that's not where WWE is heading right now. It's simple, it's logical, and more importantly, it's a card that makes sense they would book.
