Re: Worst WM Main Event of all time
As someone else said, Hogan vs. Yokozuna was NOT the fucking main event of Wrestlemania IX. My vote is for Hogan and Bundy at WM 2 or Sid and Undertaker at WM 13.

Re: Worst WM Main Event of all time
It's between Hogan/Bundy & Miz/Cena. Just unbearably boring to watch.

Re: Worst WM Main Event of all time
For me, has to be WM 13 (Undertaker/Sid) as it was probably the only Wrestlemania main event ever, to have absolutely no build up or provide reasoning for why you should watch the show.
And I'm not too fond of WM 2000 either.

-Hogan .vs. Yokozuna (don't care what anyone says, this counts as a main event whether they like it or not. Could not be anymore ridicolous than this)
-Bam Bam .vs. LT (I have a hard time putting this on the list, let's be realistic Taylor looked good in the ring compared to someone like Floyd Mayweather/Snooki and he was huge during a time WWE was bad)
-Taker .vs. Sid (this is easily worse than Cena .vs. The Miz in terms of hype, match quality, etc)
-Triple H .vs. Jericho (can't believe this has only been listed once outside of my shoutout, the smarks will never admit it)
-Triple H .vs. Orton
Hell, was Triple H .vs. Batista even that great? I think it was not bad, but not as good as Cena .vs. The Miz.
I would even say Stone Cold .vs. The Rock the first match was a bit lame. Their match a month later was the bigger match which is sad. Same with that Wrestlemania 2000 match, why wasn't it The Rock .vs. Triple H instead? Backlash 2000 felt like more of a Wrestlemania than that farce.

Triple H vs. Batista was way better than Cena/Miz and had a far better build as well. I've seen all the main events, Cena vs. Miz blows the most by a wide margin.

WM27 IMO is the worst main event in history,Cena sand bagging Miz the whole match was just terrible a fucking disgrace for the people that paid to be there and bought the PPv.

Or maybe it could be because the match was all hype and only a marketing tool that, from a wrestling standpoint, wasn't the best match in either mans career.
I'll go further and say it was the worst WM main event Rock was ever in.

Re: Worst WM Main Event of all time
One, I've never been a Cena or Rock mark and I bitch about both of them much less than true haters. Lets face the music here. That was really underwhelming. It was a 30 minute match that should have went 20. It felt like it go way too much time. Bell-to-Bell action It got more time than End of an Era and over 10 minutes more than the well built match for the WWE Championship. And it was the third best match on the card and it ultimately meant nothing.
I can't say all this really old school bullshit, I'm only 25. I can just say what I have personally watched. That was the biggest disappointment of the year in ring and consequence wise. I mean they had been yanking our cranks for an eternity about how great it was going to be and how much it was going to mean...And it was a 3 star match with a great but not legendary crowd that meant nothing in the long term. That wasn't even Cena's best match of that 12 month long time period and it was the worst WM The Rock did.
The first 10 WMs had some real stinkers some real "Holy shit, that went last? King Kong Bundy? Sid Justice?" and you watch it and your brain explodes at how awful it is. Then you just have these mediocre WM main events that you're like... "Damn, that was the main event?"
Miz/Cena is the perfect example of that. Cena was sandbagging, The Miz was concussed and not ready for prime time and you knew THE ROCK was going to come out because WM 27 was all about THE ROCK and it had another hour on it to suck The Rock's strudel and wound up having very little in ring action.

actually wrestling wise it was much better than expectation, specially for Rock's singles ring return. The crowd was really loud, and the match had many near-finishes that were well executed. All of Rock's WM Main events have been pretty good so i won't so calling this the worst doesn't mean it wasn't a great match on it's own...not to mention the buyrates and the reaction from majority of people would disagree. I'm sorry if you were expecting a technical classic, the match had Icon vs Icon written all over it, it was meant to include moves that would appeal to the crowd/casuals more than 'technical' moves that would appeal to the IWC.
Also to the post above me, the match was meant to go at least 30 minutes. Unlike most people on IWC who were expecting a technical classic, the casuals around the world actually did like the match and it was a question going for over a year (Rock or Cena?), and they had to give a decently long match to answer that question. Also, most people don't even understand that the match was meant to be like that. It was Icon vs Icon, the match was booked with back and forth action that mostly involved signature moves and finishing moves cause that's what appeals to the masses during this kind of a match. Triple/Taker was more story-driven and they could write a story with that match, same with Punk/Jericho, but Rock/Cena was meant to be two equals fighting each other. People here probably didn't like the wrestling cause they didn't understand how that kind of match is booked. Rock/Cena did a great job IMO.
