I'll catch heat for this. I thought it was way better than Punk/Jericho for the title. That match felt a little flat to me. It had to follow an HIAC with 900 kickouts, which took the air out of it, and they literally tossed in the "Punk loses the title if he gets DQ'd stip" right before they walked out there for the match. I felt like that whole part of the story didn't click with the audience because they had no time to digest it. The effort was there, the ending sequence was good and the actually finish was cool, but other than that, I wasn't a fan. I thought their match at Extreme Rules was twice as good.
I agree 100%... The HIAC match and CENA/ROCK were the highlights of WM28. The crowd went nuts for those two matches. It's what everybody will remember from that night in Miami. Jericho/Punk was a little disappointing I thought it would steal the show and was very far from that.

Re: Worst WM Main Event of all time

Bret Hart vs Yokozuna at WrestleMania 9. Not necessarily because of the in-ring aspect of it but the fact that Hogan captured the WWF title to close off the show which could have been Bret Hart's moment. Also, the match was too damn short for my liking.

Randy Orton vs Triple H at WrestleMania 25 was also one of the worst main event matches in WrestleMania history. It was dull, dragged on way too long, and the outcome of the match was anti-climatic. All of it was built up to Triple H and Randy Orton finally beating the living hell out of each other but instead, we get a standard match with a lackluster finish.

Randy Orton - HHH. As much as I love Trips, this just dragged, dragged dragged. So dull.

I actually liked Bret/Yoko at WM9. Loved Savage/Flair at WM8 too! Macho Man, ooooh yeah!

Everybody has a price for the Million Dollar Man!

Rock/Cena is not the worst but Punk/jericho that night was way better than the main event.

Re: Worst WM Main Event of all time

Undertaker vs Sid wasn't good, but Jericho and Triple H was not either. That was WM XVIII, following Hogan/Rock (diva match doesnt count) is what made that match worse. It should not of had to follow that match. Nothing should of.

Hogan and Yokozuna was a total farce and joke, if one counts that. Terrible.

Re: Worst WM Main Event of all time

Are people judging the worst match based on just the matchup on paper, or actual match? Before last WM I watched matches from every single WM(not every match, but all the big ones), and found that many in the middle years(like 7-13) weren't that great.

Hogan-Sid,Yokuzuna-Bret(and later Hogan), then Yokozuna-Luger(and later Bret), LT-Bam Bam(Diesel-HBK at that event for WWE title also wasn't that great) and so on.

The worst main event in terms of the match itself(based on WM main events in past 15 years) is HHH-Orton. Not just cause HBK-Taker happened before, but cause the match itself wasn't that great(which sucks since HHH-Orton WM25 feud had one of best WM buildups I've seen)
