Re: Best Rumble in history?

Ummm, the best RR in history doesn't appear to be on your list. That's the one in 92' when Flair went the distance to take the belt.

Re: Best Rumble in history?

2004 was amazing:

-Benoit and Orton as no.1 and no.2 was awesome. These two had great chemistry.

-Mick Foley returning and beating the crap out of Orton was epic.

-Undertaker's gong during the middle of the match and trolling the fuck out of Kane was hilarious.

-Benoit winning was a great emotional moment.

lol ya.

I watched that rumble a few years ago and it was great. Even for early 90s wrestling, where moves back then, were nothing but generic moves today, the overall match was still real good.

And it had more meaning than any rumble in WWE history. Winner becomes the champ.

Something I don't know why WWE hasn't done since. Especially with Elimination Chamber being the next PPV(so it allows 2 EC with 6 guys in each, competing to be #1 contender at WM). That'd be great selling point for PPV. Advertising the Rumble match as being for a world title. So those are least favorable odds ever for anyone to win the title(1/30 chance of winning).

Then with everyone from Cena to Orton to Ryback to Sheamus all in the rumble, it'd mean more people WWE could target to want to buy the PPV, since there's a real good shot that people who buy PPVs have their fave superstar in a match for a world title.

Re: Best Rumble in history?

2004 probably as a single match. 1992 is fuckin awesome too. I honestly thought Roddy Piper had a shot.

2001 is my favorite. LOL at 2012 as an option.

I accept Hayley Williams rep.

Re: Best Royal Rumble Match in history?

I really liked the 2007 last quarter enough to pick it as my favorite. The entire Rumble was very good. The Rumble was so good that it even managed to use The Great Khali semi effectively (ok he sucked once he got to the ring, but his spot placement was ideal). Viscera's fat ass took like fucking SEVEN people to eliminate him (he might be the fattest person ever in the Rumble - heavier than Yokozuna? His moobs make him look so). Lacking in star power perhaps, but Edge and Orton had arguably their finest Rumble match in 2007, both going close to a half hour. Edge was probably more than that. Plus Cena wasn't in the Rumble, so that was cool.

1992 and 2001 were both very good as well. But my 2nd ick would be the 1990 Rumble. As a kid, the infamous face off with Hogan and Ultimate Warrior was the single moment I marked out harder than at any point in my life. I mean every single wrestling fan was itching to see that spot, and it happened.

The action was kinda ROFL in hindsight (all that dumb criss cross across the ropes shit = haha) but the moment was straight up sick.

2001 by far.

I realise where they're going and that WWE will push Roman Reigns straight to the top. However for me, Dean Ambrose is by far the most talented in that group and I think eventually if they just give him the spotlight then he's going to shine. As soon as he touches a mic everyone else can just sit down as he's magic on it. So It remains to be seen, I think they're all talented but to me Dean was the star of that group. I think Roman looks like the star of that group but I don't think he's nearly as talented as Dean.
