Because Ryback cant work a lengthy one on one match.

I have no idea who is gonns win but the ppl saying The Shield cant lose their debut match should understand this is wwe lol. Since all men will be in the ring of course im curious to see how it works since they have built Ryback into such a monster I kinda expect him just to detsroy whoever he is fighting.

It would be fucking daft to have The Shield lose in their FIRST match. Also, it would be absolutely daft for Ryback to look at the lights. The only way out is to have a highly frenetic contest going back and forth with Kane or Bryan taking the pin. Ryback can then go on another warpath and destroy everything in sight, while Bryan and Kane continue to show dissension in their ranks, and The Shield pick up a big win in their debut. Everybody wins, and we march on forth to the Royal Rumble.

The Shield are dead. Ryback is not losing, whether he eats the pin or not. Daniel Bryan losing is the best case scenario but it's not happening, they don't want Ryback losing unless they're forced into it. They can't give him the title right now because of Punk vs Rock but everyone else is fair game.

Booking this match means a disasterous outcome, you're turning 3 guys into geeks on their debut when they can't afford to lose. VERY detrimental booking.

Punk's injury backed Vince into another corner. They had to have Ryback involved with high profile match (he is also the face of the promotion poster) at TLC, with Punk shelved. They originally planned a tables match with The Shield vs Orton or The Miz/Hell No (a match The Shield would have won 99 %), but Punk's injury destroyed that. What else is there for Ryback to do on the PPV with Punk out and they want to keep the title on Punk for The Rock, instead doing a tournament for a vacant title.

meh, Nexus lost at Summerslam. In the long run it didn't really do anything to them, they were actually much better of after that.

With the right booking, win or lose doesn't matter.

They could have a title shot contract above the ring with different meanings depending on who grabs it. Tag title shot, WWE title shot...etc.

the only thing is the tag team championship belts, but that does nothing for Ryback, so unless The Shield defend the WWE Championship for Punk (wouldn't that be hilarious) and Kane/Bryan also have the taf championships on the line as well, there is nothing

They could have a contract hanging from the rafters with a stipulation that the winner will be shoved down our throats for the next 5 years. At least then WWE will have an excuse for running Ryback into the ground next year.
