To me the best Rumbles are the ones where the winner is not one of the obvious choices. There has been one too many years where you just knew a certain guy was going to win.
All that being said I still love the 1989 Rumble the best. The lineup was a literal who's who of the wrestling world in that era. It featured one of my favorite moments when AX and Samsh were one and two and went toe to toe. I also loved the fact that Big John Studd won. I suspected he might but I was afriad they would let Hogan win again. To bad John was unable to physically follow up that win.
So what's your favorite Rumble and what is your favorite Rumble moment?

I too am a big fan of Battle Royals because of the chaotic nature of them as well as the occasional match ups that don't normally happen.
My favorite Rumble is like others in this thread. Ric Flair winning it all, ending Hogan's Royal Rumble winning streak at two in a row, and taking the WWF title (thus justifying the "Real World's Champion") is the stuff GOATs are made of.
I also agree with another poster who gave props to Heenan's performance on the commentary. All pretense of professionalism and journalistic integrity were out the window as the Brain openly rooted for his latest protege'. Gorilla helped sell it with comments like "see ya later Flair" as he nearly got dumped out. Just classic stuff.
