I think the Chairs match would work, if they emphasized the idea that chairs are the ONLY weapons allowed. It's okay if a wrestler uses a chair on his opponent, but if the wrestler does a low blow, or if someone interferes in the match, or if someone uses any other weapon besides a chair, it would be grounds for a DQ.

That did sort of happen. Batista used a low blow against Undertaker to win so the match was restarted.

a certain number of chairshots to win the match is actually not a bad idea. It would be interesting to have a tally on the number of chair shots, and to see how WWE comes up with original 'chair shots'. Better than what they have right now.

I remember when he said that.
If this was late 90s-early 00s WWE where a "Chairs Match" could really be brutal and physically intense, I would say the only way to win this match is by knock out/last man standing (which should involve head shots) or you could win by beating your opponent to submission. What would make this gimmick match more exciting is if the participants performed cooler spots or at least told better stories involving the chairs in the match. Wrap your opponent's arm or leg in a chair and smash it. Try to cause an internal injury with the chair or knock them out with it. The chair matches they have had are too tame and don't make sense.

It should be that ONLY chairs are legal. Just like in ladder matches, ONLY ladder should be legal. And in table matches, ONLY tables should be legal.
Chair matches though, should be something like "you must knock your opponent out using a chair" type of thing. So you can knock them out, but if it's not using chair shots, then it doesn't matter(just like how in table matches,if you don't put the opponent through the table but they still go through, the match isn't over)
