Which Royal Rumbles do you consider the most entertaining?
As the title reads, which Royal Rumbles do you consider the most entertaining? My buddies and I have started a new drinking game tailored specifically to the Royal Rumble. It's a perfect length for a predrink, at around an hour or so each. Here's a couple of rules we have been testing out.
A drink for every new entrant A drink for every wrestler eliminated 2 drinks for every finisher etc. We already watched the '98 and I know '04 has always been my personal fave. I figured this would be the place to come for opinions. |

'92 comes to mind, especially for the classic Flair promo at the end
'01 with Austin's second win was also decent |

I've always been partial to the 2002 Rumble myself. I remember being extremely excited whenever Triple H returned a few weeks prior to the event. Plus, every time I watch the Rumble I always get a chuckle at Undertaker knocking out Scotty 2 Hotty as he's dancing down the ramp.

Don't remember the year(97?) but Ive always enjoyed the one when Stone cold hit rocky with the Stunner then Rocky jumped 10 feet in the air and hit the rope then went over. Also the one where The Undertaker kicked Mavens ass after he eliminated him

1992 - Flair and Heenan nuff said - The most star studded star rumble for that time.
2001 - Kane eliminating 11, Big Show surprise, Austin v HHH saga, The Rock, Honky, all good. 1996 - Plenty of jobbers but I always enjoyed the domination of Vader and Yoko and HBK's performance. 2002 - Mr Perfect's return, Kane tossing Show, Taker & Maven, Austin's stunfest. 2007 - Plenty of stars and HBK & Takers final 2 mini match was awesome. 1998 - Austin! Austin! Austin! 1994 - New Generation! Diesel's domination, The Bret & Owen saga, well done finish, Ted Dibiase on commentary. |
Re: Which Royal Rumbles do you consider the most entertaining?
I love 2001, 2004 and 2007 the most out of them all. I haven't seen them all, though. I was expecting to enjoy 2000 but surprisingly, I didn't. Crowd was mostly dead (specially for MSG standards), the constant run-ins were annoying and too many jobber-level entrants.

Can anyone remember Taka Michinoku being thrown out of the Rumble in 2000?

Re: Which Royal Rumbles do you consider the most entertaining?
The only one I REALLY liked was HBK entering at #1 and winning. The Royal Rumble match tends to be my favorite match of the year though. I look forward to that PPV more than Wrestlemania sometimes.
Off topic a bit: But I used to like Survivor Series a lot too. . .but that was when most of the matches were tag team elimination matches. Now it just feels like a generic PPV with one tag elimination match thrown in. Really kills how interesting that PPV is. Quote:
Are you trying to kill yourself with alchohol or something? |

2007 was great. That Taker/Shawn ending was fucking great with JBL calling it.
