What began as a noble, selfless crusade to help a friend in need has morphed into a huge title opportunity for R-Truth, who will face U.S. Champion Antonio Cesaro at Survivor Series.

The Rapping Superstar appeared to be acting free of championship considerations when he inserted himself into a two-on-one post-match beat-down of former partner Kofi Kingston. The attack, perpetrated by Cesaro and The Miz, occurred in the midst of a Champion vs. Champion Match between The "Wildcat” Kingston and Cesaro on the Oct. 29 edition of Raw. (WATCH)

Regardless of how altruistic his motives were when he helped Kingston even the odds, the end result is clear: a one-on-one title bout against the swaggering Swiss Superstar.

Describing Truth as his “next victim” in a Tout dated Oct. 30, the verbose Cesaro accused Truth of acting like a “typical American” by sticking his nose in other people's business. Never lacking for a retort, The Rapping Superstar Touted that no matter what language you say it in, the multilingual U.S. Champion’s fate is the same: He’s “gonna get got.” Truth’s Tout taunts didn’t end there, as he again recorded a message for the cocky Swiss Superman.

Following a brief freestyle, The Rapping Superstar spat a line about “knuckle up, Ricola” — a thinly veiled reference to the Swiss cough drop manufacturer and onetime namesake of a Cesaro finishing maneuver.

Cesaro and Truth traded in the words for blows on the Nov. 5 Raw, when they teamed with The Prime Time Players and Sin Cara & Rey Mysterio, respectively, in opposing sides of a Six-Man Tag Match. Though their moments against each other in the ring were fleeting, they were also insightful — beginning with a Truth fury and ending with The Rapping Superstar’s hand raised in victory. (WATCH)

Will the result be the same come this Sunday, when the action is contained to a one-on-one matchup? Following his successful team with Kingston, Truth is back in the running for a singles title, and he’s made an enemy in the U.S. Champion. Will the fact that his friend and former running mate, Kingston, went on to win the Intercontinental Championship be enough motivation to propel Truth to winning the United States Championship? Might Cesaro’s incendiary remarks come back to haunt the ex-rugby player, who is so far undefeated in title competition?
