HELL IN A CELL MATCH
WWE Champion CM Punk vs. Ryback

World Heavyweight Champion Sheamus vs. Big Show

Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz

WWE Tag Team Champions Team Hell No vs. Team Rhodes Scholars

Randy Orton vs. Alberto Del Rio

Divas Champion Eve vs. Layla vs. Kaitlyn

John Cena to face the WWE Universe’s questions on Hell In A Cell Pre-Show

------------------------------------------------------------

PPV could turn out solid with this card. More matches will probably be added last minute to fill up time. While I am not 100 percent confident in the match quality of the main event, WWE have a situation on their hands where the finish and result of the match holds a lot of weight. The outcome of this match will change the direction of the WWE Title scene for the next several months undoubtedly, and that makes CM Punk vs. Ryback so important. I will reserve my full judgment on Ryback's push to the main event WWE Title picture during his current establishment as a character and in the middle of CM Punk's long title reign until after I see the actual booking and execution of the Hell in a Cell match. However, I will give WWE credit for trying something new in the main event but they are going to have to be creative enough to deliver without ruining the momentum of these two win or lose. How would Ryback's direction evolve after his first loss? What happens next with CM Punk after his well over 300 day WWE Title reign ends? Something has to give inside Hell In A Cell.

Brad Maddox's wiki page.

Referee, Heel turn (2012-Present)

That year, in the Hell in a Cell event held on October 28 in Atlanta, Maddox was the official for the WWE Championship match between Ryback and champion CM Punk. At the end of the contest, as Ryback was going for his finisher, Maddox stepped in and told Ryback to not do so. He then low-blowed Ryback in the testicles and quickly counted to three, thus helping CM Punk retain the WWE Title. After the match, Ryback press slammed Maddox from the ring into the cell structure. As cameras stopped rolling, Maddox was still lying on the floor for several minutes until doctors carried him backstage. Ryberg Van Wilkos killed that *****.

The only fun I had tonight was to pretend that Paul Heyman was in fact Bret Hart to my friends (they stopped watching wrestling like ten years ago). They were all like "Man no way, he looks like shit". I kept telling them he had a stroke and it was really him. The night ended and they went on google images to make sure it wasn't Bret. They still aren't sure if it was really him or not.

That tells you how much I cared about the PPV.

What doesn't make sense is this. Punk/Heyman went to both Vince and Vickie to get the match canceled and they were told no. So why was a no name referee sent out there for a main event match when he hasn't been the referee for any important matches. On top of that how come a ref was allowed to just blatantly low blow a wrestler when the owner of the company and the GM is backstage?

That to me is very poor planning that just adds to a bad ending to the PPV. Of course we knew there was going to be a screwy finish, but that finish was just awful and I think people are just over looking how bad it was because CM Punk retained. If roles were reversed and that was Ryback getting the roll up on Punk this place would try to burn down a children's hospital and that ending would have been voted the worst ending in the past 15 years.

How the fuck was an employee allowed to beat up his boss every week and not get fired? How does an employee slap the boss across his face and still remain with a job? How is an employee allowed to break into another employees house and throw him threw his window and not get charged with breaking and entering as well as destruction of property? Why the fuck did the camera man agree to film? How the fuck is the camera man so strategically placed backstage to pick up on these so called "private, confidential" conversations.

When your product is PG and you make the cell so bloody big it no longer feels like the claustrophic thing it was in the Attitude Era you ruin much of what you can do with it. I'm not really surprised, they need to end this PPV and end HIAC matches for a good while until they can properly use it. Downsize it as well so you can take bumps off it.

My review:

Del Rio/Orton - **1/2
Average match, hindered by a lack of chemistry and some obvious confusion

Kingston/Miz - **3/4
Solid. Didn't have long enough to work another quality match like on Main Event.

Cesaro/Gabriel - **
Some decent work from Cesaro and Gabriel was ok, but the crowd didn't give a shit.

Luchadors/PTP - **1/4
Nothing special. Would have been at home as Superstars main event.

Sheamus/Show - ***1/2
Dragged for the first half, but then it turned into a really good match due to the false finishers and impressive Sheamus performance. Not a classic but one of Show's best singles matches in years.

Divas Triple - *3/4
Suprisingly exciting match letdown by Eve botching the finish.

Punk/Ryback **1/4
Nothing special but the aftermath was intense and make Ryback look like a beast.

That year, in the Hell in a Cell event held on October 28 in Atlanta, Maddox was the official for the WWE Championship match between Goldberg and champion CM Punk. At the end of the contest, as Goldberg was going for his finisher, Maddox stepped in and told Goldberg to not do so. He then low-blowed Goldberg in the testicles, allowing CM Punk to pin Goldberg, and quickly counted to three, thus helping CM Punk retain the WWE Title. After the match, Goldberg press slammed Maddox from the ring into the cell structure. As cameras stopped rolling, Maddox was being attended to by WWE personnel. No immediate word was available regarding his condition.
