Night of Champions 2012 Buyrate

The 2012 Night Of Champion garnered 189,000 worldwide pay-per-view buys. The event did 100,000 buys in North America and 89,000 internationally.
This year's card was headlined by WWE Champion CM Punk and John Cena fighting to a draw.

Don't know if it was posted before but this buyrate is up from the 161,000 buys that WWE had last year. Last year's event was headlined by CM Punk VS Triple H. Roughly a 28k increase.

One thing I never got about buyrates...isn't the PPV free in some places? Wasn't it in UK or something that PPVs are free(legally). So that'd obviously impact all of WWE ppv buys.

In the UK/Ireland they are "free" on a premium channel, Sky Sports. Same in a few other countries. It is generally every second PPV, usually "B" level PPVs. That would affect the international buyrate somewhat, yes.

Some (around 3-4 a year) of the B-level PPVs, such as HIAC this Sunday, are free on Sky Sports in the UK. It's free on a pay-monthly sports channel over here in Malta too, as it is in Israel. Otherwise its pay-per-view in the other countries it airs live in.
Good news about buyrates going up from last year, too bad they're more worried about ratings.

This year 4 PPV's were free in the U.K, NoC wasn't one of them, but we're getting HiaC.

Without Punk, ratings wouldn't be able to go higher than 1.0. We should all pledge our allegiance to Punk and his incredible drawing ability on multiple platforms.

People tune in for Punk on Raw , then when his segment finishes they tune out. The same goes for PPV .
Not Punks fault the rest of these jobbers can't draw a dime.
