What's the point of a HIAC match
I mean PG won't allow the match to be anything but a PG match with a cell around it, for example, HHH Taker WM 28 (minus the chairs etc.)

Wrestlemania 28's cell match was incredible and one of the best matches of the last few years, so I don't see where you're coming from?

Re: What's the point of a HITC match
Yea, WM28's HIAC match was brilliant but it was also with 2 HOFers. I can see where Punk vs Ryback will be boring with the HIAC. With PG there won't be any climbing the cell and wrestling on top like we were used to seeing 10-15 years ago. MOST (not all) HIAC matches now are boring IMO.

Re: What's the point of a HITC match
My main gripe with the match though is the fact its just used for the hell of it. it started off as a fued ender: and that's how it should be used IMO.

No one has climbed on top of the cell since Jericho vs HHH in 2002.
Since that (rather underwhelming) Cell match, we have seen;
Taker vs Lesnar
HHH vs Batista
Taker vs Orton
Taker vs Edge
Sheamus vs Orton
HHH vs Taker
(I'm also a big fan of Taker/Punk, Taker/Kane, DX/Legacy & the 2011 triple threat)
All of which were very good and all stayed within the confines of the cell.

Re: What's the point of a HITC match
It's not like it will play a difference anyways. WWE doesn't want to take the title off of Punk but yet they don't want Ryback's "streak" to end, so it will end in a draw or something along those lines.

Edge/Taker fought outside the cell too, though.
But yeah, not going to the top isn't much of a problem, the limits with the PG rating is the problem. No blood makes it look like a fancier version of the steel cage. And before somebody calls me "bloodthirsty", I'm not. It's just that HIAC matches are supposed to be intense and in the current kid-friendly environment, they are used for nothing more than a couple of Irish whips into them and to add the No DQ stipulation. And that in turn, has turned the HIAC into a joke. Also fuck the tall structure they have now, bring back the smaller one that was used in matches like Lesnar/Taker!
