Triple H vs Batista. Absolutely brutal match, great spots (Batista hitting Triple H with a barbed wire chair, Batista hitting Triple H with a sledgehammer after he comes off the top rope and Batista delivering a spinebuster to Triple H onto the steel steps are just a few that come to mind...) great storytelling and it was the culmination of best feud of 2005. This is probably Batista's best match in the WWE and it put him over big time (even more than his other wins over Triple H) because he beat Triple H in a match he previously hadn't lost in and survived pedigree's and sledgehammer shots that would put down anyone else.
Taker/HBK. Not only the greatest HIAC, but the GOAT WWE match too.

Actually, HHH lost the 6-man HIAC match at Armageddon 2000 and even took the pin (IIRC) but WWE as they like to do pretended it didn't exist for as long as they could sell HHH as unbeaten inside the HIAC structure. Otherwise, I agree with you (except I'd put Orton/Taker up there as feud of 05 too).

Yeah WWE likes to do that a lot. They wanted Triple H to look as strong as possible going into to match, considering his two previous losses to Batista, and they accomplished that by having Triple H pick a match that he's had much success in the past in (wins over the likes of Foley, Nash, HBK) and one that Batista had never competing it before.
Orton/Taker was a great feud no doubt, but I was simply highlighting that in my opinion Batista/Triple H was the best feud of 2005.
I think the Michaels Taker match at Badd Blood is the best because it was not only a great match, but included a great debut for Kane, ripping the door off the cage, and Shawn used his normal heelish tactics to retain (opportunist)
I think that the competitors were in their prime, and it wasn't a spot fest, that almost killed one of the combatants.... like Mick vs Taker...

Rock was the guy who took the pin from Angle in the 6 man HIAC so technically, HHH or anyone else didn't lose the match since they weren't involved in the decision. It's similar as WWE promoting Edge as undefeated heading into WM 24 even though he didn't win the MITB match at WM 23. I don't see anything wrong with that tbh.
