Punk, being a Cubs fan, heeled on the question before looking into the camera and saying, "The Undertaker is going to lose at WrestleMania, probably next year."

Never take WWE.com or anything WWE is in charge of seriously as indication of anything that will happen storyline wise. It's all for traffic. Punk has already dismissed his desire to do it anyways on numerous occasions given the result is a foregone conclusion.

at Comic Con he says he doesn't want to challenge the streak because he knows he will lose

Heel Punk being heel. Then again, with how much indication they've given towards a Lesnar/HHH re-match (which if it doesn't happen at SVS will happen at WM) and with Rock/Cena definitely happening, plus Austin not being around to work, Taker/Punk for the streak might happen.

On one hand, it would put Punk over huge just to be in a WM match with Taker, especially after the last few years and would get attention on him. That being said he'd need to look really strong against Taker and they can't pull the shit they did in 2009, especially since he probably won't win (for the main reason that Taker/Cena still needs to happen at WM).

That being said, the only reason I'd even think the match might happen is if the above matches happen. Rock/Cena II is fine, but Lesnar/HHH should absolutely not happen and it should be Taker/Lesnar and Punk/HHH. But even if they went with Lesnar/HHH, there's always the chance they'd do something like Punk/Sheamus or Orton and Taker against the one Punk isn't facing. In that case, I'd hope and pray for Taker/Orton, though then again Taker/Sheamus might make the streak seem more endangered... well, at least to us smarks. Mainly because while Orton, with his wellness violations and already failing at the streak would have virtually no chance of happening, with how high WWE is on Sheamus, and if Vince is in the wrong frame of mind when deciding who wins the match, Sheamus might end the streak... though it would be counterproductive as the idea would be to make Sheamus the top face of the company, but he would certainly get booed against Taker and probably live in a well of heat forever for ending the streak.

But yeah, take the video with a grain of salt.

maybe he is hinting on a Lensar vs Taker match since both are heyman guys and( kayfabe wise) he may know lesnar is challenging the streak

Probably just Punk staying in character in that WWE Inbox video. I doubt it happens. As mentioned, Punk said he doesn't want to do it because everyone knows what the result will be.

Don't think he can be viewed as a credible threat to the streak, esp after HHH.

Nah I think he's just being a heel, but probably desperate because he knows very well he is not getting the streak match. Pathetic.
