Default Best Survivor Series Main Event, 1st Qualifying Round: 2003 vs 2005

Coming this October is the 26th edition of Survivor Series. A PPV made famous with 5-on-5 tag matches, Controversies, debut of the elimination chamber, and so much more. To celebrate this PPV, and WWE choosing not to bring an end to its history, lets figure out which Survivor Series from 1987 to 2011 hosted the best main event.

Out of the 25 Survivor Series PPVs, I took the last match from the card to be that show's main event and randomly matched them together. Due to the awkward number, this is how it will be broken down for matches. The byes will always be selected randomly and once a year gets a bye, it will not be allowed another one.

1st Qualifying Round: 12 matches, 1 bye
2nd Qualifying Round: 6 matches, 1 bye
Quarter Finals: 3 matches, 1 bye
Semi-Finals: 2 matches total
Finals: 1 on 1 for best main event in Survivor Series History

The Tournament Breakdown (today's vote is only for 2003 vs 2005)
2003 vs. 2005
2000 vs 1989
1999 vs 2007
1991 vs 2008
2010 vs 1987
2002 vs 1998
1988 vs 1995
2009 vs 1996
2011 vs 2006
2001 vs 1992
2004 vs 1990
1993 vs 1994
1997 gets the bye in the first round

1st Qualifying Round: 2003 vs. 2005

Survivor Series 2003/World Heavyweight Championship
Goldberg© vs. Triple H

We all know Triple H was crowned the World Champion rather than winning it, well for those annoyed by that you can thank Goldberg and Steve Austin it didn't happen a second time. After Goldberg trying for months to take Tripe H's title, Goldberg finally picked up the big win at Unforgiven but soon found himself injured thanks to Evolution. When Bishoff tried to award Triple H the title again when Goldberg couldn't compete, Steve Austin came out and arranged the Survivor Series Match instead. When Goldberg finally returned he got his revenge on Batista and Evolution but had to wait for the PPV to get to Triple H. In the end, even with an injured ankle, avoiding sledgehammer shots from Triple H and interference from Orton, Batista, and Flair...Goldberg would come out victorious with the use of a Spear and Jackhammer

----

Survivor Series 2005/RAW versus Smackdown 5-on-5 Survivor Series Match
Team Raw (Shawn Michaels, Kane, The Big Show, Carlito and Chris Masters)
vs. Team SmackDown! (Batista, Rey Mysterio, JBL, Bobby Lashley and Randy Orton)

And to think it all started by turning the lights off. RAW GM Eric Bishoff was unhappy having to air a Smackdown match on his brand so like any grown adult, he turned the lights off stopping the match completely. Also acting like an adult, Smackdown GM Theodore Long interrupted a RAW match. Eventually this led to a match at Taboo Tuesday with fans voting for which tag teams from each brand would face off and would continue on to the Survivor Series. Finally it was happening, RAW versus Smackdown, Red versus Blue, to see who had the best show. The match would eventually come down to Shawn Michaels from RAW and Randy Orton from Smackdown. With help from fellow brandmate, JBL would distract HBK enough for Orton to hit a RKO for the win. Unfortunately, this is also the PPV where Eddie Guerrero was scheduled to compete but unfortunately passed away.

Survivor Series 2005 WWE purposely made RAW roster look weak with team RAW when compared to team SD, back when they cared about both shows

I agree with you on that. When I watched I was surprised with the Smackdown win.

In terms of Goldberg, I never watched WCW as a kid and only WWE. By the time Goldberg showed up I knew of him a bit. By the time his WWE run was done I failed to see what was so great about him. Guess you had to grow up with him

we need more of these polls, like Best Wrestlemania main event, Best HIAC match, etc. I voted Trips vs Goldberg.

Triple H vs Goldberg was horrible. The Tag Team match is by far better.
