Re: Opinions on the 6 week gap?

Hell in a Cell SHOULD be a big event to build up to. HIAC is the biggest gimmick match that WWE has to offer and it should have a strong build. The previous HIAC PPVs were down right underwhelming in their build and did nothing to add to that match's legacy.

So yes, I approve of the long build up. And besides, I remember waiting 3 or 4 months in between PPVs. Have some patience kiddies. Patience IS a virtue.

outside of WHC, future Ryback/Punk feud teasers (probably in December or Mania) and Tag Team division. Nothing really being build upon, so far. Cena injury really screwed them so they just doing filler episodes and saying "you must face Cena at HIAC" crap

its not filler, the storyline IS about Punk being made to agree by legends to face Cena, its about the whole 'respect' thing .

Re: Opinions on the 6 week gap?

what's upsetting is with an extra hour of Raw every week.. and an extra hour of TV this week and next with WWE main event.. WWE still has done so little to promote HIAC..

WWE is a joke

Re: Opinions on the 6 week gap?

Well, there are several sides here. There should a strong build to any PPV (in terms of time, and actual storyline advancement), but with 12 per year, it's difficult to do that for each PPV. Unfortunately in this case, WWE's biggest feud (arguably) in Punk/Cena isn't getting proper build because Cena is hurt, and probably shouldn't work a match, with them not knowing if Cena will be healthy.

Also, one of their big 4 PPV's in Survivor Series, will only get 3 weeks of build, which is not OK.

Someone made a point earlier saying that Hell in a Cell gimmick PPV, and it is because the HIAC is used to end feuds and is made out as the devil's playground and whatnot. For Punk/Cena, it's perfect (except when you can't build it because one of the guys isn't there) since it will likely end the feud for a bit, and a Punk victory would do wonders for him.

On the other hand, they're also putting Sheamus/Big Show inside the cell, which is stupid, because HIAC shouldn't be the first match in a feud. There are two ways this ends: 1)With Sheamus overcoming the odds and pinning Big Show. or 2) Shows wins and the World Title. I don't think Ziggler will successfully cash in, since they've mentioned Bryan cashing in on Show last year, I think he'll attempt a cash in and get punched out.

Re: Opinions on the 6 week gap?

I think it's fine. I hate the PPVs that are like 3 weeks apart. They lose their luster, their importance. This will make the PPV feel more important in my opinion.

Re: Opinions on the 6 week gap?

They could have 6 months, it won't matter unless they take advantage and build it up to make people want to see it.
