Re: Night Of Champions PPV Discussion

PPVs these days are just a glorified version of Monday Night Raw tbh with the exception of the odd 'GOOD' championship match. There was nothing to get excited about after Night Of Champions. The WWE title match was the highlight but it had that feeling of 'we've seen it all before'. All the near falls and kicking out after finishers are not really cutting it anymore. They need to come up with something new otherwise all the matches are going to start looking like HBK/Taker from Wrestlemania 25. Just my opinion.

I think the debate about whether or not to restart it was going on and that's why Punk took out Cena.

SMH, this shit is getting old.

Yeah, I'm really sick of the main event of every PPV ending in a draw.

Oh wait, it virtually never happens.

Re: Night Of Champions PPV Discussion

i watched Night Of Champions this morning and the PPV was simply flawless, i liked it very much. Easily Best after WM28.

Just like Summerslam I felt this was a good show but not something I would watch again.

It happens every now and then. But September PPVs have had non-finishes every other year:

96: HBK vs Foley
97: HBK vs Taker
98: Austin vs Taker vs Kane
02: Lesnar vs Taker
05: Cena vs Angle
07: Cena vs Orton
09: Punk vs Taker
12: Punk vs Cena

I have yet to watch it, might start soon.

Should I spend my time watching it or give it a miss?

It's a decent to good PPV, with a horrible crowd, you be the judge.

Re: Night Of Champions PPV Discussion

Decent PPV, nothing more. First three matches lacked something. Randy/Ziggler was a good match. I didn't care about the WHC match because I knew it was going to be the same old 'Alberto carrying Sheamus' type of a match. Their SS match was way better than this one. Punk/Cena was easily the match of the night, nothing even comes remotely close, crowd was involved from the outset and the atmosphere was great. Cena's injury early into the bout hampered it's potential, but nonetheless they managed to deliver a great match. I actually liked the finish. Makes them both look strong coming off it.

i enjoyed the Punk/Cena match, but i also agree with this. The kicking out of finishers so much is not being executed well enough these days, they need to do a better job with that because the kick outs can be seen from a mile away. Plus Punk/Cena's MITB match last year was great because the first 15/20 minutes had no finishers at all, and every finisher seemed like it could have been the end. These days they are booking finishers in a match like normal moves just because two highly credible guys are against each other.
