Card looks alright headlined with a surefire quality main event. I'm expecting a MOTYC. With Punk now fully solidified as a heel champion seeking respect at all costs, with the event taking place in Cena's hometown, and the Paul Heyman factor, the outcome is totally unpredictable. Hot crowd, two of the best workers in the business with chemistry, and an intriguing angle have the makings of a classic.

Orton/Ziggler should be a solid match. They've faced each over over a dozen times on TV over the last couple of years so the chemistry is there to produce the goods.

I'm not really looking forward to Fella/Destiny. The feud has been going on and on, match after match.

Bryan & Kane are simply an entertaining pairing and their antics in this match should be funny as usual. I wouldn't mind if they won the tag team titles and continue to run with the team while its fresh and over with the live audience.

4-Way should be fun and I'm looking forward to some Mysterio/Cara interaction.

The main event was excellent and was cenas best performance for quite some time. Was pissed when i thought he had won the title as he does not need it so was relived it was a draw.

How many times has orton beat ziggler over the past 12 months. I really thought this match was made so ziggler could be put over and look somewhat credible if he does cash in successfully. As for the actual match it was quite good but was very slow in the middle.

Del rio vs Super sheamus was a total bore and really sheamus should of tapped out. Also what was the point of the whole Brouge kick banned angle for this match when it was not banned at all. What annoys me more is that Bryan had to tap out to Sheamus on smackdown.

Fatal fourway was okay but the crowd were flat and and the match itself was missing something.Cara had a good performance and that is down to him slowing it down.

My favourite match was probably the fatal four way, was just a thrill to watch. Happy that Punk still has the title, really enjoyed the tag-team match as well. Didn't pay attention to US title match, good to see the beautiful Eve win. The world title match was a sleeper and I pray to god that this marks the end of their shitty feud because if I have to witness 6 weeks of build up to a HITC match with them I think that might draw the line for me. Overall not a bad PPV, thought it was much better than Summerslam so in that case an improvement and looking forward to seeing the direction we take now we have a 6 week build up to get some feuds solidified.

Review:

I was thrilled JBL returned. His commentary made the PPV 10x better. And that's amazing considering the last time he did was almost 5 years ago!

Surprise, surprise. Sin Cara is involved and the Fatal Four Way match is botchy. However, most of this will be fixed by changing camera angles for the home release version. Despite Sin and Rey taking turns kicking each other, it felt like I was watching a tag team match. Cool to see Miz overcome the odds.

Glad to see Kane and Daniel win. They were so over with the crowd that it would've been a crime to not have them win the belts. The "Hug It Out" chants had me rolling in stitches. The fact that two former world champions hold tag team gold is pretty cool. I'm expecting a "I'm the tag team champion" shirt to come out soon.

I don't know too much about Antonio Caesaro, but from what I saw, he's a methodical wrestler so its only fitting he uses Dean Malenko's theme. It was bittersweet to see Zack on PPV again only to lose, but I loved the fact he had to win a match to get a title shot. It gives the midcard belts credibility.

Somebody mentioned that Dolph tends to bring out the best in Randy and I agree with that assessment. Orton Vs. Ziggler was a crisp match with an awesome finish and even though The Legend Killer won, it was bliss to hear The Showoff outcheer him! I forgot how tall RKO was though, he made Curt Michaels look tiny!

Layla's reign of doom is finally over. It sucks Kaitlyn got replaced, but Eve deserved to be Divas Champion (I'm pretty sure it was a reward for winning Stars Earn Stripes) again and seeing her win the match clean was a shocker.

Does anybody else feel bad for Alberto Del Rio? I haven't seen a one sided feud like this since HHH took on some younger talent. ADR gave the fight of his life. What's really weird is this was their 3rd PPV match and still there was no stipulation. Its also nice that Dolph didn't cash in as reported.

And to finally top it off, Punk left NOC with the WWE Championship in hand much to my delight while the rest of my sports bar was pissed off. It was a great match, but it went on a little too long with all the reversals, counters, and false finishes which wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't seen that in Sheamus Vs. Del Rio right before this so I was burnt out from that. I didn't mind the Dusty finish (German suplex off the top rope was sick) because they book themselves into a corner with not wanting Punk to lose the belt yet, not wanting Cena to lose in his hometown plus you had the cancer support involved as that would've been in poor taste. It only makes sense to try to settle things in Hell In A Cell although it was odd that Heyman would be there and not get involved in the match. Quite the red herring.

So overall, good show. Almost as good as SummerSlam.

Great PPV.

Main points:

- Every match was good, even the divas match. Ziggler/Orton & Punk/Cena were great matches.
- Good twist at the end.
- Miz, Cesaro, Punk, Eve & Kane/Bryan leaving as Champions (Y) (Y)
- Awesome commentary.
- Funny backstage skits.
- No shit filler/impromptu/squash matches.

3rd best PPV of the year after Mania and Extreme Rules.

Most people complain when he brushes off things to do with the WWE championship, so if he hadn't done that stuff it would have been "burying" of the title!

Still, if people are picking on kayfabe comments to complain about then stuff must be starting to really pick up. I hear Paul Heyman came out to watch the match as well which :mark: Something big is on the horizon, I can tell.

-JBL is back, grat to se him again :) He and Cole have done a grat job as a commentators, and it reminds me on Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 game.

-In the opening match Miz retains his tittle, just as I expected. I like The Miz and I'd like him to be as long as possible Intercontinental champ. That would be good for him and the tittle.

-We have a new tag team champions. Everything is great, but the segment in which Kane says "I'm going to Disneyland" is very stupid.

-Cesaro & Aksana = Ziggler & Vickie

-Great match between Orton and Ziggler, great RKO!

-Matches between Del Rio and Sheamusa become very boring. And again uncreative ending...

-Mainevent was great. When Cena was declared champion I jumped up from the chair, but in the end... :(

IC title - ***
Tag title - **3/4
US title - **1/4
Orton/Zig - ***1/2
Sheamus/Del Rio - **3/4
Layla/Eve - Didn't see but I've heard it was alright
Punk/Cena - ****

JBL on commentary is fucking awesome. Punk/Cena was pretty good but way too many finishers. Didn't hate Del Rio/Sheamus but I've seen it too many goddamn times.

Not the best PPV, but very solid from top-to-bottom. Punk/Cena was a thoroughly enjoyable match (second best to MITB), even if the finish was a little weak. I get the idea, but after so many finishers, a botched German off the middle-rope felt anti-climatic. I'm very happy that Punk retained though. There's a lot more that needs to be done with Punk's run, and I can't take another babyface Cena championship reign. My heart sank when John was announced the winner.

Bryan/Kane is the surprise pairing of the year. WWE should run with it. It's amazing how entertaining they are together. A step in the right direction for the tag titles as well. It won't be permanent, but for the time being, it looks like they'll be featured more prominently. Let's be honest - no one is going to give a shit about a tag division that consists of PTP, Usos and Epico/Primo. A team like Bryan/Kane is needed to kick-start the division.

Eve winning the butterfly strap is another good booking decision. She can and will be the diva in years to come. My belief is that she'll become the closest thing to Trish Stratus this generation can achieve. Girl has it all - look, character, charisma, mic skills and ever improving ring work.

I can't say enough good things about JBL's commentary work. It was unbelievably refreshing to have a voice with a vested interest in the product, and a history to back it up. If he doesn't become a permanent part of the broadcast I'll be surprised. He brought Cole's game up, and for my money, commentary hasn't sounded that good in years. After last night, I'm convinced that JBL is the man to replace King permanently when he retires (and honestly, I think that should be quite soon).

Damn good show. I'd slot it in behind Mania and Extreme Rules as the 3rd best PPV this year.

Would've liked some better buildup between Punk/Cena, such as playing up their rivalry from 2011 more, but last week in Montreal filled the gap nicely.

Still, Punk/Cena was fantastic and much better than the Title unification match from last year's Summerslam. Good length, very back and forth, even if I think these bigger matches overdo it on the multiple finishers at times. I think Punk may just be Cena's best opponent, even rivaling Edge.

Del Rio/Sheamus was solid, but we've seen their song and dance before. It's been three PPVs. End this feud. Now.

Orton/Ziggler was excellent. Not crazy about Dolph doing the job again here, but it'd be much worse if it was just some 8-minute, routine filler match. Main event quality stuff here.

JBL on commentary = Yes X 1000. It's not my dream team of JBL and JR, but it's halfway there.

Overall, well worth the money and a great show.

I'm pleasantly surprised to see that the Hell in a Cell PPV is damn near six weeks away at the end of October. However, I won't be surprised if WWE still takes 3-4 weeks to start making matches for it. :kg3

JBL's return was very nice. He and Cole work very well together.

IC title match: Not a very good match, but a decent opener, with a very stupid finish.
Tag titles: Bryan & Kane are gold.
US title: I skiped this one, because I can't stand Ryder.
Orton/Ziggler: Good match, not there best but the ending was very nice.
Divas title: I like Layla, but she's very dull as a face. Now we have Eve as the champion again and Kaitlyn will get her push. She will win the title with her Scorpion Dead Drop.
I also skipped the World title match. This is just enough of those two.
WWE title match: This one was very good, but the ending was a big letdown.

Overall I felt Night of Champions was an enjoyable pay-per-view, with most matches being solid outings (bar the Divas title one, which wasn't bad just nothing special). The two World title matches also exceeded my expectations (I was just expecting an okay World Heavyweight match after all the amount of bouts they've had recently) especially the main event which was tremendous. Successful card in my opinion.

Also a refreshing change having JBL back on commentary, hasn't lost it.

PPVs these days are just a glorified version of Monday Night Raw tbh with the exception of the odd 'GOOD' championship match. There was nothing to get excited about after Night Of Champions. The WWE title match was the highlight but it had that feeling of 'we've seen it all before'. All the near falls and kicking out after finishers are not really cutting it anymore. They need to come up with something new otherwise all the matches are going to start looking like HBK/Taker from Wrestlemania 25. Just my opinion.

i enjoyed the Punk/Cena match, but i also agree with this. The kicking out of finishers so much is not being executed well enough these days, they need to do a better job with that because the kick outs can be seen from a mile away. Plus Punk/Cena's MITB match last year was great because the first 15/20 minutes had no finishers at all, and every finisher seemed like it could have been the end. These days they are booking finishers in a match like normal moves just because two highly credible guys are against each other.
