It's a tough one. Always is. It could be anyone of about 10, but there are reasons for each not to win it. Even more this year, will it be Rock/Cena 2? Who will face Undertaker? Other than Cena, who could face The Rock if he defeats Punk earlier in the night? If Dolph cashes in before then, who would he face? It should be Face VS Heel, so if Ziggler is champion does he face Sheamus? What of the Orton heel turn that's brewing, will he win and face a face Sheamus at Mania? Where does that leave Dolph?
If he wasn't Mr. MITB, I would have said Dolph was a definite for me. However as he already has a title shot then I don't know. I mean, he still could and have used up his briefcase before then but I'm not sure.
It's tough because it's for a world title match at Wrestlemania as well as winning the Rumble, so anyone who challenges for the Smackdown belt will, unfortunately, look inferior. Here's who I reckon anyway;
- Wade Barrett, to go on and face Sheamus at 'Mania.
- John Cena, to face The Rock as 'Mania in MATCH OF A LIFETIME... 2.
- Brock Lesnar. After The Rock defeats Punk, he could face The Rock at Mania.
- Randy Orton, leading to multi-man match at 'Mania featuring Orton, Show, Sheamus & Ziggler.
And my personal guesstimation;
- CM Punk. The Rock defeats CM Punk, who has already secured a Royal Rumble #30 spot somehow without anyone knowing. Punk wins the Rumble. Again, somehow Cena gets in on the match, too leading to The Rock VS John Cena VS CM Punk at Wrestlemania.
I can see this happening at Wrestlemania:
The Rock VS Punk VS John Cena
Randy Orton VS Big Show VS Ziggler VS Sheamus
Undertaker VS Brock Lesnar w HHH as Special Referee.
Not great though. Tough one for me this year, if it's for Punks belt I can only see 1 or 2 men winning it, but for Smackdown belt I can see as many as 7 or 8 winning the Rumble.

They won't waste a 'Rumble win on somebody who already won it - it's to make or further establish somebody new. I assume Rock vs. Punk goes on last, meaning Punk won't win.
1) Ryback - Vince has a hard on for him and he needs it after losing 3 PPV main events in a row.
2) Wade Barrett - still looking strong, only doing the job to Orton and Sheamus. He could face a babyface Show @ WM 29. Afterall, Show did cause him to miss last year.
3) The Miz - babyface turn, winning matches at last. Could imagine Miz vs. Ziggler @ WM. Still, he hasn't been booked strongly enough. More likely to feud with Cesaro or Del Rio.
4) Daniel Bryan - still extremely popular. A redemption storyline?
5) Kofi Kingston - perennial mid card attraction, but in with a shout.

1. The Miz - With his face turn he could face Show, Zigler or heel Orton...
2. Ryback - another face, but with his history with Punk why would he go for the World Title?
3. Alberto Del Rio - because he's a future Hall of Fame and doesn't get enough respect.
4. Daniel Bryan - I don't see team He'll No lasting til the Rumble.
5. Christian Cage - returning superstar, shock factor.

#1 ~ He's English, which for whatever reason is an offense in Vince McMahon's eyes. English wrestlers are not allowed beyond a certain level in WWE, they never have been, they never will be allowed to break out until Vince is no longer around. Vince isn't high on Barrett for that very reason, and fucks around with him for his own amusement.
#2 ~ He's in the IC title scene. He's not going to go from an IC title match (win OR lose) to the Royal Rumble winner within one month. Forget it.
#3 ~ WWE have completely dropped the ball on him since he came back. Until he got the IC title feud, he had no direction, was just having random matches, and got nothing out of it. He lost too many times since coming back and whatever credibility he had as a returning wrestler was quickly shot away and he was back to his usual level, and now that he has a direction, that direction is completely below the level he's worth, and it shows that the WWE is not willing to push Wade Barrett to the levels that we know he can and should be at.
#4 ~ In case you haven't noticed, Ryback is in the midst of the single biggest push since Brock Lesnar. Despite having only been on the roster for less than a year with this character, and having only one significant win, his push has been handled to such a degree that he has more credibility than anyone else in the company, even Superman Cena himself. That level of a push is going to be capped off with a VERY fast world title payoff, and Vince isn't going to give the Rumble to some midcard English guy he can't stand when he's so obsessively pushing this green Goldberg ripoff. ESPECIALLY after the fact that he's going to lose 3 straight WWE Championship matches in a row due to the fact that he can't win the WWE title with The Rock around the corner ready to take the belt off Punk, so after 3 defeats, Ryback is going to need momentum in a big way. Cue Rumble win, Barrett gets left in the cold once again, Ryback faces Ziggler at Mania and obviously wins.
The soonest Barrett can ever hope to touch a world title is after MITB, should he win the briefcase but he's not going to. The most likely candidate for that at this point is Cesaro, but even if they have someone else win, WWE has conclusively proven that they don't want Barrett to play any part in this company's future, or at least the head man in charge doesn't, regardless of how massive of a mistake that is.
