Mid card title matches at NOC.

By mid card, I am referring to the Intercontinental, United States and Tag Team titles.

I am expecting Ryback to get a mid-card title match at NOC after his 'feed me a champion' line. He would easily fit as a challenger to both the IC and US titles as both Miz and Cesaro are heels. Which title will they will have him go for? I could easily see a situation where either Miz or Cesaro is in the ring talking about how no one is brave enough to challenge them for the title and then Boom, out comes Ryback to a huge pop.

If he challenges Miz, I could see Cesaro vs Santino. I originally saw Cesaro facing Christian, but after the whole TNA thing, Vince will probably be a petty SOB and won't allow it.
If we have Ryback vs Cesaro, I could easily see Miz going against Mysterio again.

As for the tag team titles, I can see some kind of tag team turmoil. R-Truth and Kofi defending against Usos, Primo and Epico, Prime Time Players and International Airstrike. Then at the end of the match, AJ introduces Kane and Daniel Bryan who need to 'work out their anger issues together as a team' and together they dominate and take the tag titles from the remaining team. I doubt WWE are going to want to leave Daniel Bryan off the card, and this keeps him on the card whilst we don't have to deal with another match with Kane. It also allows Truth and Kofi to break up and re-enter the mid-card. With that said, as much as I would love Kane and D-Bry as champions for the entertainment factor, I would prefer an actual team like the Usos to take the straps.

What do you think? Does anyone (including WWE) even care?

Re: Mid card title matches at NOC.

^Of course WWE cares. It's a ppv where every title is on the line, so they'll have every title be on the line. Whether or not they care about if the match/feud is even good is a diff story.

Knowing WWE, they'll announce a title match is happening at NOC, on the last SD before the show.

US title will be Cesaro-Santino rematch
IC title will be Miz vs someone maybe like Ryback?
Tag titles I could see having multiple teams. Kofi/Truth vs PTP vs Primo/Epico vs Usos

Re: Mid card title matches at NOC.

I guess they care to an extent (they have evidently being trying to improve the tag division), but with them announcing the Divas title match (a championship well known as having no importance in WWE at all) before any of the mid-card titles, it makes you wonder.

As far as the tag title match, I would be surprised if they left out Kidd and Gabriel since they seem to be getting a lot of exposure and focus lately. Did you notice how Michael Cole asked Kofi Kingston how he would feel if he and Truth faced Kidd/Gabriel?. That seems like they are building up Kidd/Gabriel as a serious tag team and that something is going to happen between the 2 teams sooner or later. I see no reason why the Usos would be on the card instead of Kidd/Gabriel when the Usos are so underutilised and are clearly getting less attention at the moment (and i'm saying that as a big fan of the Usos).

Ryback Vs. Miz for the IC Title

Santino Vs. Cesaro for the US Title

Kofi/Truth Vs. PTP Vs. E/P Vs. Kidd/Gabriel for Tag Titles

There you go.

Re: Mid card title matches at NOC.

Cesaro will defend the U.S. Title against Santino, and the Miz will defend the Intercontinental Title against Ryback, who comes out and challenges the Miz after the Miz says that nobody is man enough to face him.

As for the Tag Team Titles, maybe Kofi & R-Truth defend the titles against the Prime Time Players, Kidd & Gabriel, and Primo & Epico.

Re: Mid card title matches at NOC.

I like that tag team turmoil idea, a lot.

I would prefer Ryback to go for the US title rather than the IC, but that would probably mean burying Cesaro who has also been booked strongly. I'd prefer to see Ryder or someone go against Cesaro and lose to put him over some more. I would also prefer to see a different opponent for Miz, for some reason I don't think the IC belt would be a good fit for Ryback and I'm worried it could go the way of Ezekiel Jackson's run. Have Miz build up the belt some more, drop it to Mysterio and then have Sandow go over him later on.

Re: Mid card title matches at NOC.

I'd rather a Miz/ Mysterio rematch just so Miz can hang onto the IC a little longer. Plus it would almost certainly be a good match.
