Re: Official CM Punk vs. John Cena Discussion
That was just such a weird ending. I mean, it's strange that the ref didn't just go, "Hey, I can't count, this is a double pin." And I don't remember the last time Cena tried a German suplex pin. And I don't remember the last time someone went for a German suplex pin and the other guy didn't manage to kick out . .
Wait, actually I do: HBK vs Bulldog at In Your House. HBK pinned Bulldog with the german suplex, which makes more sense since Shawn does look like someone who would use that move. And there were two refs counting the pin, so the double pin draw made sense too. Hmm, y'know, german suplexes rarely pin anyone unless they're doing the double pin ending.
Anyway, I think for this to work, they either needed two refs to count. Or instead, they should've had someone like Heyman interfere, naturally leading to Cena calling for the Hell in the Cell to prevent interference.

Sorry to disappoint you, but it doesn't matter where his arms are, both SHOULDERS touched the ground, his arms could be up his arse (fella ) and it would still mean a pin if both shoulders hit the ground. They even showed different replay angles, and there clearly were 4 shoulders touching the ground. The "botch" was perfectly executed

1- The shoulders have to be down NOT the arms. And upon showing the replay at the end of the show, they showed 2 angles both which proved Cena's shoulders were down.
2- This picture shows the 2nd angle, Cena's shoulder is down and Punk is on the upper portion of his chest and neck/head area. He had enough covered just like when someone drapes but an arm over his opponent.

Re: Official CM Punk vs. John Cena Discussion
I thought this was a great match! Really enjoyed it, punk looked very strong. I thought punk wound retain through interference, so a draw was great. As soon as I saw it i knew what had happened.
Punks moveset was great, loved the rock bottom. Cena did well, but didn't sell some moves, thought he had fallen asleep when he was in the cross face Benoit submission thing.
If punk had of won cleanly this would have been as good as MITB. It was probably a better wrestling match, but the crowd and general story was not as good. Still a 5 star match though.
Cena and punk work well together. It was nice to see them try and out do each other. Looking forward to HIAC

Re: Official CM Punk vs. John Cena Discussion
Biggest problem for me is the kicking out of finishers part. It doesn't bother me that they kick out of the finishers. It bothers me that they kick out of it right away. I wouldn't have a problem with it if Punk gave Cena a Rock Bottom but doesn't pin him right away.

I really enjoyed this match. Easily a Match of the year candidate. And the second best Punk/Cena match, in my opinion.

Re: Official CM Punk vs. John Cena Discussion
I think this match was the best the chemistry, storytelling and the buildup around it has been the best and Punk and Cena always delivers. And the whole card(except for the opening fatal 4 way and the divas match) was great imo.

Re: Official CM Punk vs. John Cena Discussion
Beyond the cheesy ending, I thought this was a good match, but if they wanted to not have a conclusive winner that naturally meant they would have to finish it at hiac then why not use heymann for that.

I think the match was awesome. I was on the edge of my seat. The kicking out of finisher was great because both moves have insane amounts of credibility and made both people look super strong. I was depressed when cena won but when it was declared a draw I marked out. Not to mention a rock bottom! Four and a half stars IMO

No, there are a plethora of other things that make it a bad match. For example, the crowd seemed really dead, there were a lot of dull periods in the match, Cena's inability to perform his own finishing move in a convincing manner, his ridiculous no selling of Punk's offense (come on, Punk beats him down and gives him a GTS, then when Cena gets picked up he just gives him an AA out of nowhere, pounces on him and hooks the leg? What about the supposed damage Punk inflicted?) and the ridiculous kicking out of 5 or 6 finishers (which just totally devalues the move). The finish just happens to stand out.
