Or the infamous CM Punk 'throwing up' during the 'legendary' summer of Punk storyline 2011. Whatever Punk does, it gets ignored. When Rock cuts a promo about his lifestory, people complain that he needs to act serious everytime. I think Rock316AE explained it very well that Rock doesn't need to sound intense every time, there will be times where he makes jokes and tells stories. There is a right time for everything which is why Rock sounded serious in the latest Smackdown segment because that was relevant to storyline. Rock needed to sell the fact that he was furious about his belt getting stolen.
