That type of interaction is unheard of in today's industry. Awesome promo. To see a 15k+ sold out crowd so captivated by a guy telling a story in the middle of a wrestling ring as the main event of the show after 3-4 hours in the arena was unique, that's why he's the best of all time at what he does and in a league of his own. Just for the record, that story is a real life story that Rock told on several occasions with the last time on The Tonight Show in 2011 IIRC. That's not just a random subject that someone backstage wrote for the audience, that was Rock's real life experience and they were in Nashville so it was perfectly fitting in the situation. He also sold the match in the final minutes of his promo with Heyman and Punk.

That's true. The most promoted match for WM20 was Rock/Sock/Evolution with Lesnar/Goldberg second. The Rock/Foley/Evolution story started in December 2003(You can even say July 2003 when Evolution attacked Foley in a backstage segment), Foley was the GM, Orton was just getting over as a heel. The first hint was Rock coming back to save Foley with the first Rock and Sock on screen interaction since 2000-2001 IIRC. Orton started to do the Legend Killer gimmick, spitting in the face of legends and all that. Challenged Foley to a match but Foley didn't show up in fear that he lost it, then quit his job as the GM. All that in December 2003.

Foley was then confirmed for the Rumble with JR hyping his appearance throughout the show, he eliminated Orton and they brawled. From there Evolution were on Foley every week with beatdowns until Rock came back to make the save and accepted the match. They did some more angles, along with video packages for the Rock/Sock reunion etc. It was Rock's first match in a year and Foley's first since WM16. All of it was in the main event of the shows BTW, the moment Rock came back, the world title match was treated as a secondary and sometimes third attraction on the show if the Vince/Bischoff/Heyman/Lesnar/Goldberg/Austin storyline had a strong segment that night. The WM20 match was only the second tag match to be a main selling point attraction for a WM in history along with WM1. The entire story of Rock/Foley/Evolution was the best program of 2004 IMO because in the end they sold a successful WM, put on great matches and made a legit star with Orton. Love the 2-3 match at WM20, the Rock/Flair interaction was a masterpiece, still say that it should have been Rock/Flair and Foley/Orton in separate matches.

As for Fast 6 in the box office, Fast 5 did around $700 million, I think there's even more buzz this year than in 2011, over 15 million views in less than a week for the main trailer. The possibility of a billion is there. Who knows. It should break the series record without a doubt. For other Rock movies, SNITCH got very good reviews so far, GI Joe should be big, over 300 million. Pain&Gain should be great comedy based on the scenes so far. And Hercules has potential to be a similar franchise to Superman/Batman IMO if the first is a success and has big budget.

Waiting for the Rock's SD segment, I think after EC is the perfect time for Rock to debut a new belt, or at least his Bruama Bull belt until WM.

agreed on the wm 20 which could be example about the difference between wwe build now and back then because rock was in the same situation and away from the show still they sit every thing to fit his short available time before the ppv
also i hope g.i.joe be a succes it will make a bigger difference for him in Hollywood then he already reached
another note from a guy watching the rock everyday whatever he does i can tell with all the movies shooting promoting commercials wwe the hero and else we were wondering how he will fit into all of this he doing just fine but the effects start to be there he looks tired this time he wasn't like this 2011 2012 again he doing great but looks tired that make me appreciate what he brings more and more

No doubt bro, it was all in place for Rock to come back, everyone did their part, Evolution looked dominant, Foley looked frustrated and here comes Rock to change everything by forming the legendary tag team again in Foley's return match after 4 years. Foley recently said in an interview how surprised he was that Rock worked with him at WM and how he appreciated that he came back specifically for it. The storytelling was just on another level that you're asking what the hell happened to the industry. It was never a problem with Rock though, Rock always overcame any booking because his performance and talent overshadows any loophole in the storyline, he did it back then, he's doing it now. There was only one example to the point where I thought that they're trying to sabotage Rock on purpose, the night he agreed to wrestle with Cena at SVS 2011 and then after 90 minutes Cena was there beating Miz and Truth alone, that was a disaster, forgotten by Rock's memorable ring return and the amazing ovation at MSG but still a disaster. The only thing now that I can really see with a long term planning was Punk going over all these PPVs so Rock can end it at the Rumble, and even that according to reports was just because Rock was heavily involved in the booking.

I'm sure that GI Joe will do very well, it had over a year of strong promotion and a lot of anticipation. Forgot about The Hero, the concept of the show would probably attract a lot of people and along with Rock's following which wouldn't be there otherwise, it can be a big success. Rock is a workhorse, like I said, one of the hardest working guys I have ever seen if you look at his full, insane schedule, not only now but since around 1999 and especially 2000-2002. As he said on his new doc, even in 2000, he had the WWF schedule, music vids, talkshows, movies, TV series, media interviews etc but was always able to fit anything new in his platter, that drive and desire is unmatched. His work ethic is inspiring and that's why along with his once in a lifetime talent and charisma, he's where he is. It's awesome to see Rock out there having fun with the live audience, you can see him genuinely happy and you appreciate it even more.

There is no point being angry about Rock vs Cena II now. It's clearly happening. We just have to embrace it.

I actually am currently going to skip wm, unless wwe surprise me and give me a GOOD reason otherwise.

You can be physically big with hard work, genetics and over 20 years of experience like Rock has. He knows exactly what he's doing, he's been training his entire life. No way he would take anything that can damage his body, short or long term, he's already set for life and accomplished everything he wanted and more in his two professions.
hahahahahahahahhaha i would love to see a pic of you. typical fat fuck that knows nothing about bodybuilding.

Lol @ you thinking roids actually damage your body. Plus you realize he gets them from a fucking doctor right? Guaranteed that he has a doctor or "trainer" supplying him with all the roids in the world he needs and probably doing the injections for him.

Does your dumb ass not realize he took roids when he was like 16? Why would't he take them when hes a millionaire that gets most of the money based off his appearance?

Dumbassses like you should just stick to being fat and not pretend like you know anything about bodybuilding or lifting in general

just read some off the posts above very good reads enjoyed them. as for the chamber i cant help but think there could be a swerve. we are debating that the rock vs cena is going to happen. but how about it may not happen.

just got a feeling punk is going into mania as champion. and got a feeling brock will screw the rock. at the chamber. maybe undertaker isnt wrestling this year which would leave punk vacant so he could face john cena. brock vs the rock maybe?

not getting ahead off myself but is there anyone eles here that feels there could be a major swerve or am i just hoping lol

Wrestling logic dictates that Rock will retain at Chamber.

Red rep me with your ridiculous Rock GOAT,Hogan Second crap. You are the worst guy on this forum.

The way you write your posts is great but the content is bullshit

Lol @ Rock/Foley vs Evolution being the main-event.You are the most delusional guy in this entire forum.

Lol @ Fast 6 crossing 1 billion due to Rock. The Rock's biggest movie outside of franchise/Multi-starrers is Game Plan and it crossed 150 million

Hercules as big as Batman?Dude Get a life.
