He is retaining. Maybe not winning the match though. Someone is gonna interfere and the rock gets disqualified then we see punk the following raw saying that the rock also got some involved in the match like he got the shield yada yada!

I gotta agree.

That's TOO much. I know working out can get you places, I definitely know that. That just doesn't look natural AT ALL.

I do think Rock would win in a shoot fight just because of his ridiculous size advantage, but if they fought ten times, Punk would probably win 2 to 4 of them.

When you watch UFC, a lot of the time, these guys aren't fucking gigantic tanks who just throw punches with a lot of weight behind them; there's much more to it. Not to mention, this is pro wrestling after all; it doesn't have to mean that one guy who would win in a shoot fight automatically wins the WWE one too.

Stop being so damn ridiculous.
I'm a huge CM Punk fan but this crap about Punk having a legitimate BJJ and Muay Thai background is ridiculous. He trains BJJ with Rener Gracie every once in a while because he doesn't have time to do it often. He himself has said it. He's a white belt for Christ's sake. It's not like he's Anderson Silva or even a freaking Diaz brother. If the Rock and Punk were in a real fight the Rock would win. He may be using steroids or not but he's bigger and stronger than Punk and that's a fact. But why does that even matter? This is pro-wrestling. Nowadays Punk is a much better performer than Rock both in the ring and on the mic and this is, once again, an undeniable fact. That's why he should be featured in the main event of wrestlemania, plain and simple. He's been brilliant all year round so he should be compensated for his year and be in the real main event.

As for the original question on this thread, the answer is Rock will and must retain. It wouldn't make any sense to make Rock end his 434 day reign and then lose it after two weeks. It would be a new low in booking idiocy.

Nothing did and will ever do more damage to the WWE title than what they did last year, having a WWE champion in the midcard.
If that's not enough they presented another guy who wrestled in the main event instead of the champion as someone who had the worst year ever in his career. I don't know what can damage more the impact of the title than what they did last year.
Vince treated the WCW title 2001 with more respect than his own title 11 years later. Hell, even Eric Bischoff with the WWE title during the Monday Night Wars (one of the biggest nightmares of Vince) would threat the title with more respect.

Back to topic, the win of the Rock is just a formality because the WWE champion needs to be somehow involved on a PPV before WrestleMania. They already plan Cena vs Rock so it doesn't make sense having Punk winning the belt. Even if they plan a triple threat match it would not make sense for having the Rock losing the title to CM Punk and having only a 1 month title reign when the next PPV after this is already WrestleMania.

.
This is exactly why you're one of my favourite posters on here. Good post. You forgot to mention that when a guy like John Laurinitis main events a PPV over your champion, then that's a sign your title isn't important.

I'm not gonna defend The Rock because it's pretty obvious that he is on riods, but in this particular picture, he had to take them because he was shooting in a movie in which the role required him to be as buffed as possible. The guy next to him in the photo was also on roids for the film.

It's better to use the picture below, in this one he wasn't shooting in any movie, yet he was equally buffed like in the one above, meaning, he uses them roids not only for ''role'' purposes. 3
