I reckon the EC will be a better match than the RR.

Can't be that hard to top.

You can't prove that. For all we know they could have had Cena feud with The Rock early on and it could have made him a star overnight, it could have been the feud of Cena's career. Hell, they had newcomer's like Sheamus go over Cena and HHH so there's no reason why they wouldn't have used Rock to push Cena. But I'm not going to debate this all day because I a) don't have a Crystal Ball and b) don't work for the writing staff.

The fact is we don't know what would have happened but even if you were right, the same could be said for every wrestler who became a top tier performer. If enough old school guys didn't step aside in WWF then it would have made it harder for Rock to succeed. Hell if WCW didn't exist and guys like Hogan, Sting, Flair, Savage etc were in WWF from 1997 onwards then it woulda' been hella' hard for Rock to have consistently main evented but again, I don't have a crystal ball and don't work for the writing staff, so there's no point saying anything would have definitely happened.

Because your reply didn't argue his point for or against, you just brought up a seperate point about their careers and quoted him.

He's promoting his movie.

And I'm not being a smartass either. I'm serious.

His movie Snitch is out February 22, and he's doing promotion all next week.

From late 1997 until early 2003 WWF centered around two people Stone Cold and Rocky in what most people call the greatest time in wrestling history. Lesnar was only pushed so fast cuz Rocky was leaving and WWE was tryna quickly rush someone into his spot and it was even worse with Cena. Rocky aside Cena wouldve never been the top dog if Lesnar left.

I bet you everything that Vince would trade his top 3 stars to have Rock fulltime. Given Rocky busy schedule why not try to use his star power to try to boost business, which has worked? WWE has tried to give Cena the rub since WWE has tried everything else to try to pass him as a super duper star caliber and it still didnt work? Cena is top man by default not cuz he earned it or is actually the best in the company.

I think Cena would've been the main guy regardless if Lesnar had stayed.
He was so over by early 2004 even before Lesnar left.
In fact it's JBL who would've never been a main eventer had Lesnar not left.

Rock/Punk - ****1/4. **** if you count the Shield BS. Exact opposite of Rock/Cena when the finish was perfect and added to the match. Rock/Cena was a better match overall IMO. The drama, the energy from the crowd, the nearfalls, it was all more "big time" there. Rock/Punk had some money exchanges though.

From one of Rock's SuperBowl commercials, the other is GI Joe:

The post is self explanatory. Rock is keeping it warm for Cena...so yeah, obviously I think Cena is gonna take it.

No he wouldn't. WWE is making plenty of money without Rock, giving up his top 3 stars would be retarded. Besides, why would he ever have to?

- The Rock and CM Punk practiced their Royal Rumble match on Sunday before the pay-per-view. The finish was kept top secret from other talents to the point that they hung a curtain around the ring so nobody could see what they were doing.

Regarding the finish of the match, Punk was pinned after The People's Elbow because their feud had been built on Punk saying that the people don't matter and Rock saying they do.

With Rock as WWE Champion, the idea is he will be doing a ton of media to promote several movies over the next two months and can talk about WWE, WrestleMania and being the champion.

No way, Cena was over but only as a heel. Maybe he wouldve stayed the same character but played more of a face sense he wouldnt have to be the top face. Cena has said he was never suppose to be top man but that it was suppose to be Lesnar.

Not really i ratings and pay per views havent been good in ages. They reply heavily on Mania and even that was in a rut before Rocky returned.

All of this makes sense to me. McMahon has his dream crossover Superstar promoting three big Hollywood releases, in two Superbowl commercials, and is the current WWE Champion on the Road To WrestleMania.

The symbolism of "The People" ending CM Punk's reign was stated before in this thread and to the story they were going with I appreciate the finish even more. At Elimination Chamber, Rock should put the final stamp on the story and for Punk's character that it's over with a Rock Bottom finish.
