It probably will because he's a bankable star for the WWE and Vince & co seem to lazy to really take a chance with anyone else. That 14 month reign Punk got wasn't taking a chance or giving him the ball because Cena was still the focus 99 percent of the time. I like Cena but it does get frustrating watching WWE's booking of other talent or outright neglect of other talent in favor of giving John Cena the world. I honestly don't see it changing anytime soon. Sheamus, Ryback, Orton, nor Punk are about to take the reigns from him.

Re: Official The Rock vs. CM Punk Discussion Thread

The problem with Cena/Rock isn't just so much that it's OMG CENA SUCKZ!!!! It's simply this:

1. The match was already done last year as 'once in a lifetime thing'.
2. Rock wrestles a limited schedule. If you ignore the fact that this makes the WM main event completely predictable, it's ALSO bad for shows because the WWE champion won't be wrestling very often.
3. Face vs face is difficult to pull off, and most of the promos they could have done were already done last year.
4. There's little to no build up for another Cena/Rock feud. Sure they're having a WM return match, but the two have barely interacted over the last year. Punk and Cena have a lot of recent history. It would have been better for Cena to face Punk at WM and potentially be the one to end the long reign. Giving the rub to Rock does nothing (it doesn't do much for Cena either who is already hall of fame level, but at least he wrestles full time).

The one positive for WWE is that it will sell in the short term. Which is fine, but time and time again WWE creative has gone for the 'safe' route. They've done little to invest in new stars and keep re-signing nostalgia acts.

I can actually picture them having another big PPV match at whatever the Chicago PPV is in June. With Cena going over this time of course. After going over Rock at Mania.

Unfortunately for WWE selling the short term will eventually run them out of business in the long term. I can't say they don't deserve it though..

I've been the best ever since day one when I walked into this company and I've been vilified and hated since that day because Paul Heyman saw something in me that nobody else wanted to admit. That's right I'm a Paul Heyman guy. You know who else was a Paul Heyman guy? Brock Lesnar. "

434 days. The greatest reign in the history of professional wrestling. Nobody will forget it.

I guess the only thing that could change WWE's thinking is if John Cena started to hurt their bottom line which it might with that thinking. This is what Vince always wants someone who can be Captain America. When Hogan slowed down he though Warrior was that guy but failed. He choose Lex Luger over Bret Hart and that failed. Then he choose Kevin Nash over Bret & Shawn Michaels as an edger Captain America and that failed. It's time to tell Vince that in 2013 fans are not paying to see someone who is on top because he looks good behind an American flag or he's PC for WWE brand selling this isn't 1985 anymore.

This explains everything I dislike about John Cena.
