Re: Official The Rock WWE Championship Discussion
I can't believe there are people who are questioning whether or not WWE will be fine in running Cena/Rock II, This Time It's for the Once-Completely Irrelevant Title When it Wasn't in Cena or Rock's Orbit. They said as much when Cena and Rock confronted one another at Raw 1,000. Remember? Cena spoke openly of getting one more "shot at The Great One."
That "Once in a Lifetime" poppycock was put together to market the match at Wrestlemania XXVIII, as simple as that.
Watch. WWE will devise the next series of events to make the match happen through booking, unlike last time when it was just a challenge that was met by Rock and agreed to a certain date and place. Rock is going to beat Punk at The Royal Rumble for the WWE Championship and I'm going to guess Cena wins the 'Rumble on the same night. Might as well go hog wild with this. Anyway, I'm tired of the "Smackdown Wrestlemania Storyline" being Wrestler X We Want to Become a Big Star winning the 'Rumble and challenging whoever is the champ going into Wrestlemania. What kind of fool would win the 'Rumble and not want to wrestle Rock for the WWE Championship, anyway? It opens up so many cans of worms that it boggles the mind. Yeah, just give Cena the 'Rumble, the win over The Rock and another year-long WWE Championship reign starting in April 2013 while you're at it. He can't turn heel because now he's feuding with Cancer, though. But at least he'd be well-positioned to challenge The Streak at Wrestlemania 30.
DesolationRow is correct. A marketing ploy to help sell a match being as big/unique as possible is all the tagline last year was. Granted, it is rather poor to simply repeat a main-event like this, and logic/consumer wise the tagline now seems like complete bullshit, the overall feeling in WWE remains the same. They see it merely as part of their plans.
I still would prefer to see the Triple Threat however. CM Punk VS John Cena VS The Rock(c) over plain Rock VS Cena rematch. I wouldn't mind who wins. However it would add greatly to have some sense of freshness to the match. No matter the situation though, Cena will not be turning heel. Not at all.
So despite being in a fued with each other, all Punk and Cena can do is tweet about The Rock? y
Desperate tactics, typical you know, trying to make people think Rock is going to be involved so maybe they can get their PPVs above the sewerage levels on Rock's name y They're trying to get heat to their feud on The GOAT's name since their first segment(Even using his video promo)and it continues now. Not working...And when The Franchise Viagra can't do it, you know there's a deep problem.

Rock/Fast 6:
Quote:
London's Burning: The Rock films scenes for Fast 6 on a battered and scorched Lambeth Bridge
Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson was hard at work filming on the The Fast and the Furious 6 in London today... and he seemed to be at the centre of some serious destruction on Lambeth Bridge.
It's tantalising stuff, as the high octane illegal-road-race franchise has proved so popular that it's reached this high number in the league sequels (it is rare to go past three).
The heart and soul: The Fast and Furious only really took off after The Rock was cast for the third adventure
It's all down to director Justin Lin who introduced Johnson in his third film of the series, as a wise-cracking policeman on the trail of fugitive racers Vin Diesel and Paul Walker.
His wit was evident today as he smiled and joked amidst the faux destruction of a central London bridge, wearing an incredibly tight black shirt.
Johnson's character, Diplomatic Security Service agent Luke Hobbs, may be joining forces with Dominic Toretto and Brian O'Conner this time around, to bring down the film's villain, played by Luke Evans.
Johnson is also keeping his Twitter fans amused with updates like this: 'On set. FAST 6. Take 1: Rock throws man into table so hard entire ceiling crashes down. #MyBad.'
Gina Carano, Clara Paget, 'The Raid' star Joe Taslim and the Michelle Rodriguez join Diesel, Walker, Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson and Ludacris all star in the film, which arrives theatres on May 24th, 2013.
Filming locations also include the Canary Islands and Glasgow, Scotland.
And it's clear the makers behind the hugely popular franchise don't plan on leaving the series at number six, with an evolution planned to take it further.
It's been confirmed that Universal intend to transform the series from street-racing action into a series of heist films with car chases, like The Italian Job.
Universal chairman Adam Fogelson said: 'The question putting Fast Five and Fast Six together for us was: Can we take it out of being a pure car culture movie and into being a true action franchise in the spirit of those great heist films made 10 or 15 years ago?'
I read somewhere that the biography channel did a new Rock documentary, someone heard something about it? Because I can't find it. It was on a Wednesday 2-3 weeks ago.
And BTW, it was posted in the funny wrestling pics thread a few weeks ago, but I just found out that there's a video of this GOAT pic in a 1999 WWF Superstars episode. Hope I can find it.

From where you're getting all these pics of Rock/Foley playing? I'm trying to find the segment but can't find any pics of it.
If I remember correctly, based on what Rock is wearing, it was before a SD taping in September 1999. That was the same show they did the segment with Rock and Mankind in the parking lot and Rock asking him: "The Rock lets you ride in the trunk of his limo and you're complaining?!"
