Re: Cena Rock II - Why is everyone so certain it will be at WM29?

I somehow don't think they would release a "once in a lifetime" DVD of Rock and Cena's 11/12 rivalry if they are just going to restart it a few months later.

Rock/Cena has run it's course. It certainly won't happen at the Rumble (just after key sales time for the DVD, Christmas). Punk/Rock at the Rumble is 99.95% set in stone in my opinion. What happens at WM is anybody's guess.

I feel like Rumble is more for pushing people rather then just to get Punk vs Rock. If they really wanted Punk vs Rock, they won't have one of them win the Rumble. Some lower person will win the Rumble to get a push (hopefully); like Sheamus last year.

Re: Cena Rock II - Why is everyone so certain it will be at WM29?

Because Cena/Rock draws money and Punk/Rock wont be as successful at a big PPV like Wrestlemania. Besides, they don't want The Rock to beat Cena twice. And before you talk about Hogan, Cena is the current face of the company whereas Hogan was an old has been on a limited contract.

And I'm glad it happens this way, because I hate the idea of Punk beating The Rock.

Re: Cena Rock II - Why is everyone so certain it will be at WM29?

Because a Cena/Rock rematch at WrestleMania is money. Especially if you raise the stakes and put the WWE Championship on the line this time around. I've believed from the beginning that the endgame has been to have Cena defeat Rock. Rock won at WrestleMania XXVIII, so Cena has to win at WrestleMania XXIX. And it should happen at a WrestleMania because having it happen on any other PPV would be very anti-climactic.

There are such things as rematches and just because they may have a re-match, doesn't mean that the match will be on as big a stage as the first one was. When Hogan vs Andre was built for Wrestlemania 3, it was built as the biggest match ever at the time. They had a re-match almost a year later, but it wasn't as big as their first encounter.

It hasn't happened any way yet. To be honest it wouldn't surprise me if this was the way it would pan out, but hopefully I'll have bailed by then and won't be a part of it.

its smart play for him business side. They could do Punk vs Cena vs Rock too but I believe it will be Cena vs Rock II. The ONLY way you see Punk vs Rock at WM 29 is if Cena takes on The Undertaker, they might be saving that for WM 30 (most likely Undertaker's last match depending what happens with Lesnar)

Hogan was not the face of the company when Rock beat him twice, Rock was closer to that himself, even though he was just about done.

The reasons Cena vs Rock 2 will happen:

Rock is wrestling at WM 29

Cena "needs" (he doesn't) his win back on Rock, because he's the face of the WWE and nobody can ever look better than him, for any reason.

Vince doesn't want Punk facing Rock at WrestleMania, which is stupid and childish, because WM 29 will get as many buys as WM 28 if Rock is wrestling and it's built up, and Cena gets a fresher opponent to boot. I wouldn't be surprised if less people bought WM 29 just because Rock vs Cena already happened and the people got the result they WANTED the first time. With this one, everybody knows for a fact Cena's winning.

What everyone really wants for Christmas:

Re: Cena Rock II - Why is everyone so certain it will be at WM29?

if they do that , can they be accused of false advertising ? they did say it was ONCE in a lifetime

so what's gonna be the motto for the next one , "Twice in a lifetime , this time we mean it" ? hell maybe they'll add a third match to be the rubber breaker , then what will they call it .. "the Conclusion of the Saga , no seriously guys this is the last one we promise" ?

Hey, nothing is holding you back from quitting right now! I've pretty much bailed out for the past few months. Although I will return just for The Rock when it's RTWM time.
