How can he be beating that guy?' And that's what had you coming back. Again, it's like Mike Tyson. You don't have to like him, but you're going to watch to see him get beat. If you do like him, you're gonna watch to see him not get beat.
"And that's the same thing with CM Punk. You said it. He doesn't have a physique. He' s just that less-than-average guy as far as physically looking at him and he goes out there and wins, wins, wins. And it drives the average Joe out in the audience, that looks like him, to say, 'Oh, I can do that, man. CM Punk is doing it and he looks like s--t. I can do it.' The other people out there, who are jacked and in better shape physically, are saying, 'When's this guy gonna get beat?' That's the philosophy that Vince is using with this dude."

Wasn't that Roma interview months ago? Nobody gives a fuck about that guy, he's just like Orndorff and Graham, a has been just looking for attention.

I suppose Paul Roma has a point. Punk is smaller or doesn't have the look of all the guys he's faced recently from Cena to Ryback to Rock...so yeah it is kind of a "how is this guy winning?" kind of thing.


Of course the 'E hasn't been really creative with his escapes. The triple threat outs (2 of those), the interfering referee and The Shield (twice). The only other out he had was the draw at NOC.



I think Punk's "look" is conducive to that style of booking. He doesn't have to look dominant or strong because he can easily and more effectively look cunning. I don't see why a guy built like Sheamus or the Big Show would ever need to cheat to win, he's huge! He can overpower 80-90% of his opponents, no need for run-ins or anything. Its basic booking honestly, a heel doesn't have to be cowardly.

I wish there were more weeks to build this up as opposed to Rock/Cena.

Both men have been terrific. We have seen them actually go at it. The Rock has sold Punk and the Punk has put himself over terrificly. The Rock, aside from Cookie Puss, actually takes this feud seriously. In the Cena feud, he really gave it to him at the Rock Concert. Notice he said nothing about Punk when he did his concert on Monday and he was actually serious when talking to him.
