This guy has gotten the type of push nobody else had ever received outside of Cena and it only had the opposite effect of driving potential and current fans away in a massive exodus.

Just accept the fact that nobody finds him interesting and believable as a WWE champion.

Let's say Punk keeps the title at Royal Rumble. I don't think he would drop it at the Chamber PPV so he might as well keep it to WrestleMania. So who should Punk drop the title to? Rock already put Punk over huge by giving him the longest title run in a long time, as well as selling him as a threat. Royal Rumble is Rock's show, built around him completing what he started the night after WM28 in Miami and he's going over. Along with that, he's giving Punk a once in a lifetime opportunity to have the biggest match of his life and finish his title run at the peak of it. Or maybe people wanted to see Ryback and Cena ending it on a B PPV instead of a huge match against The Rock. Because if Rock is not booking Punk against him in July 2012, that's exactly what would have happened.

I do agree with 316AE here, Punk has probably benefited from Rock these last two weeks then he has from the entire Summer of Cena and Ryback, the brawl, the two promos, they both look like a million bucks. As underwhelming as Monday's segment was, I particularly enjoyed the remark "You aint God."

dude am simply saying punk's reign shouldn't be forgotten so easily, its been a good reign imo, sure it has been overshadowed by cena but what did everybody expect, the fact is punk has only held the wwe title for the last 6 months because the rock said so.

So what happens to Punk then if he loses? He can't possibly be sold as a threat to Taker if that is indeed the direction they are going with him, (which for the record, I don't think they should do). He will more than likely get lost in the shuffle at mania. After mania, Rock disappears again, along with Taker, Lesnar, HHH etc..and they are back to square 1 with only Cena as a legitimate main guy. A win over the Rock would elevate Punk far more than he ever could be while he was beating mid carders like ADR, Miz, Dolph etc.
