Re: Official The Rock vs. CM Punk Discussion Thread
I'd much rather see Punk win at the Rumble and a Punk/Rock match at Wrestlemania than another mediocre Rock/Cena feud and match. It happened, it was a huge match, it also had some dull buildup and having it repeat the following year is a good way to kill it's importance. Rock/Punk already have a better feud and I'd rather it continue.
No idea where that'd leave Cena though. Still fighting with AJ and Langston maybe but that seems way too small time for him. I doubt he'd fight Taker just yet either: if that happens at all it'll be the main event, not behind a Rock match.

Pretty much this, but they both will up their game even further in coming weeks.

It wouldn't be the first time WWE has done it (Wrestlemania/Backlash 2000).
I can see Punk going over at Royal Rumble. Triple H winning at WM 2000 got the McMahon-Hemsley regime even more over as heels, leading to a more meaningful payoff victory at Backlash. I can see WWE doing something similar with Punk/Heyman.
And it might not be a bad thing. IMO, The Rock has always been most compelling when he's chasing the title.

@Clique I agree, Punk has really shocked me in this feud and I respect him a bit more for being a straight up pro in this feud. He's acknowledging the rock as The Rock and making this feud as important as it should be. In 2 Raws Punk/Rock are selling this feud WAY better than Cena was when he was feuding with Rock.

Not sure about the comparisons, but his pops have been getting loud again recently.
Re: Official The Rock vs. CM Punk Discussion Thread
True that it happened before but that was a different company, EC simply doesn't deserve a momentous moment like Rock winning the WWE Championship after over a decade. WM16 is still a huge mistake IMO and tarnished the legacy of that PPV forever. There's a time and a place for everything, this is not the time for a swerve.
Plus with this line coming from a babyface like Rock:
"Fact: You ain't God. But God as my witness, in 13 days I WILL beat you for the WWE Title".
