No you didn't understand,Punk's been in spotlight for 2 years and still hasn't got over with the fans(only IWC that constitutes 4% of WWE universe).
Rock after he changed his gimmick and turned heel got over with the fans in 5 months.
I want the Rock to say that to shut the IWC up(who says that Rock is corny and his shtick is lame)

Why would you think ever it had anything to do with ratings? It's about their match and Punk says that there's no way The Rock will beat him because he's out of his league. If you hadn't noticed the story is that one of them is the champion and the other the challenger, which means they are actually going to fight. And no, most of the IWC are actually secure enough in themselves to stand for their own opinions and don't base quality on whether something is liked by the masses. The same way everyone won't be saying that McDonald's makes the best quality burgers.
3.1 is far, far from what WWE did in the era where The Rock had his prime. No matter what he'd be showing that he's a has-been (while it in reality just means that wrestling isn't as popular anymore overall).
And again, why would saying that the masses likes The Rock better change anyone's opinions? Are you that insecure yourself that you try to make your opinion legit by liking what everyone else likes and therefor think that other people do the same? If not, why do you think that matters? And if you haven't noticed most people in the IWC likes The Rock. Even most of those that think it's corny to call someone "cookie puss" etc like The Rock overall. Just because you like someone doesn't mean that you have to think everything is great.
When did I say that Punk owned The Rock? Show me where I wrote that or admit that you are just making things up. I've said that both of them did great and showed that the way to make a feud work is to make sure both guys come off good.

Honestly, this feud doesn't really appeal to me. I find nothing exciting about it,so far.
Punk's promo was great but he still came off as little leagues when Rock was in the ring with him.And he's the champ!
It's not entirely his fault , though. His booking has been subpar even though he had the title for more than a year.

In 1997 RAW used to score ratings in 2's and when Rock was in his prime(1999-00)RAW scored ratings in 7's and 8's.Your argument doesn't stand strong.

No,I just want the WWE to give Rock a fair chance.Last year in the Cena/Rock feud,Cena kept shooting on the Rock for turning his back on WWE and going to Hollywood.Rock just stood their still without saying anything.WWE severely limited him on the mic so that he had to make facebook video revealing why he left the WWE.
That's the true Attitude Era Rock not holding back.You can see that he is intense,doesn't use catchphrases and jokes and utterly destroys Cena's every argument.WWE didn't even air this on RAW because they know that it would hurt Cena's character.
That's what happening now,WWE makes Rock rely on his catchphrases and corny PG jokes(which he doesn't need)and a guy like Punk steps forward,says Rock's shtick is lameass,his jokes are corny,he is in kiddie league and calls himself God and the Rock doesn't even reply him.Its crystal clear they are holding him back again.

I am just saying that Rock deserves a fair chance to show his mic skills,show his critics that he can evolve his shtick and cut great promos without his catchphrases and jokes.

Let him win, likely by dirty means (no outside interference) allowing Punk to retain and gain even more heat. Beating up and cheating Cena/Ryback don't help him get heat since they're either not over enough (Ryback) or getting such mixed reactions (Cena). Only Rock and Taker are beloved enough to generate heat from heeling it up against.
As for the promos, Punk isn't the face of the WWE (will never be), relies on his promo ability and wants to challenge the world both on-screen and behind. They'll let both Punk and Rock take the gloves off and just go at it on the mic, unlike the Cena/Rock interactions.

@Sam Knight, to talk directly is not Rock's style, it's cheap and by saying that Rock should talk about how Punk can't draw is basically doing the same thing Punk does which is pandering to the internet fanbase(Which you want Rock to also accuse him of it when he does the exact same thing in the same promo)because the general audience is not checking the ratings for RAW on a weekly basis, let alone the segment breakdowns. Rock is talking to the masses, he's never going for a "AWWW" reaction in a minority or a specific demo. There's no money in it as history shows. Like I said here about this case:

I also liked how he closed the promo with believable intensity into the Rock Bottom. Smooth and natural, not have to worry about protecting Cena in every word he says, or following some uncomfortable presentation of the WWE machine. Great start, there are two more weeks, one should be Rock/Heyman.
As for the Cena/WM discussion, Cena has a huge fanbase but he's never selling a WM on his own because most of his fanbase aren't the paying audience. Besides his WM with Rock last year, the only WM he main evented, and by main evented I mean as THE main attraction and selling point, was WM22 with HHH and that show dropped big from the year before when Batista main evented and didn't do million buys. That's also the reason Cena's standout category is his merchandise, and to a lesser extent, the family house show audience.
Hope Heyman's tweet is a sign we're going to see Rock/Heyman segment on RAW. Maybe Heyman interrupting Rock after the Concert and then taking the guitar with him
