Rock can destroy, annihilate CM Punk if he cuts a promo like this
'CM Punk, last year you promised a revolution.........where is that revolution? Why is RAW getting ratings in 2's?Why is the WWE getting a 0.5 PPV buyrate?CM Punk, you said that Rock is in kiddie league while you're in the big league, well Rock's kiddie league scored ratings in 7's and 8's and 1.5 PPV buyrate, does this mean that Rock's kiddie league is bigger than your big league? And CM Punk please stop cutting shoot promos, its out of your character, you're a heel, its not your job to say who's been unfairly treated while you yourself have used unfair means to win matches, your shoot promos only appeal to the IWC,the causal fans don't give a damn.'
Please WWE last time you didn't make the Rock destroy Cena at least make Rocky destroy CM 'Midcarder' Punk this time.
First of all it wouldn't destroy someone who's character already talks about the fans turning their back on him, and that says that he doesn't need them. It would work on Cena who actually tries to have the crowd with him but against Punk it's just illogical. Don't you think we've had enough illogical stuff from WWE?
Secondly it's not really relevant to drag up what ratings The Rock had back in the days because he doesn't draw those kind of figures anymore, as well as it's easier to draw as a popular star if your appearances are rare. While it would show how Punk is different from The Rock's glory days it would also paint The Rock as a has-been by those standards. Do you think that's smart?
Third it's pretty lame to use ratings numbers when you talk about how someone isn't popular. The Rock has far more creativity than that and he's already playing that card.
Fourth it's again illogical that you want Rock to shoot on Punk (and more of a shoot than Punk just did, because his last pipebomb made perfect sense within kayfabe, as well as being relevant to those that see it as a shoot) and at the same time say that no one cares about it. Why should The Rock do something he doesn't think anyone cares about?
And fifth, The Rock knows better than to try to sell a feud your way. There's a reason why he talked up Punk as well as trashed him, and why Punk did the same. That's obviously because a feud means so much more when it comes off as two strong guys going at it than if a star is going against a jobber. As Jericho would say, don't be such a mark.
