If someone didn't get it after last night's promo, they probably just don't like (and never will) the Rock's style of delivering promos or the content he presents with a mix of intensity, live crowd interaction, and jokes.

It's not that people don't get it. It's just that sometimes he can do with 3 less jokes. Some of them were a bit silly. I'm not one of those who's arguing about who won or whatever, but still some of you die-hard Rock fans need to get why some people might be put off by it, especially for this promo.

I think it's what makes the dynamic between the Punk and Rock characters better. I also thought the Rock promo was fantastic because he came across as one of the heroes that Punk lives to thwart. Rock was super serious most of the way to build the title match and yeah, he threw in the lowest common denominator humor, but that's perfect for the whole ideology Punk has of being this "I hate everything mainstream" or gimmicks & company favorites over straight-forward wrestling talent. It's a feud you can look at and think, "Yeah, these guys wouldn't get along in any walk of life" and the rivalry is compelling to me because of that and because the delivery was on point from both. No, I personally didn't particularly laugh at the jokes, the crowd ate it up, but I was completely sold on the Royal Rumble match by both men.

Yes, two different characters. One is versatile and can change around the fued as required without completely changing their gimmick. The other is stuck rigid in the same bland shite and requires people to work around them. I don't blame Cena, I blame Vince, but you can't compare last nights promo to last years. Last years had some decent moments but last nights was ten times better than anything they did last year.

Anyway speaking of turning the crowd was it just the stream I watched it on or were there some audible boos after the Rock Bottom on Punk. I couldn't tell if it was or just shitty sound on the stream.

Last night was bland lol. Oh and rock never got booed last night. Punks pipe bomb was insanely dull. Anyone could have done it. Cena did it to punk in canada. Its not impressive.

The IWC gets so excited about shoots.
Punk did well last night. I actually enjoyed him.
