i loved his promo i really did and most of what he was saying was true the parts where he implied he doesnt need the fans on any level was just bullshit imo and came off as abit pretentious. Also I still get that feeling that he's trying to get fans to boo him when they just wont well not anyone who's not a kid anyway. And i say this as a huge Punk fan.

Just so you know. I think Punk did great tonight but he by no means "owned" The Rock. Both got their potshots in and both shined like gold tonight. No one owned anyone. Only nut-hanging Punk marks think The Rock got owned.

CM Punk came out for what he believed in, Including us. He didn't complained, he simply took charge and did exactly what many others wanted to do but couldn't. The Rock came out and said nothing but catchphrases and CENA jokes, In the end The Rock stepped up and realized that this isn't a popularly contest like he had with CENA last year. This was about being the VERY BEST and the WWE Championship.

I actually disagree, i think they where both on par with each other, nobody out shined anyone for me, The Rock was his usual funny self but still badass he had good comebacks and punchlines whilst CM Punk was more serious. The dynamic worked well because they have completley diffrent gimmicks and that is something we havent seen in a long time

I agree with you, though. Punk's promo was spot on and seemed like a direct nod to the IWC. Part of me wonders why the WWE even tells him to out there and literally expose all of their real life problems like that. WWE is basically making fun of themselves for making what they know are stupid decisions.

To sum it up Punk pretty much said "The WWE makes stupid decisions, makes a mockery of legit talent, doesn't give credit the hard workers who deserve it, only cares about who can sell the most merchandise, and you fans are idiots for continuing to support them and their real life problems".

They let Punk say that because they know all of it is true, and they know that no matter how stupid he tells the fans are for buying into the WWE's real life mistakes they are still going to do just that...buy tickets, watch, and buy merchandise.

This promo was really good because Punk and Rock have such different styles on the mic. Punk is blunt and serious, while Rock likes to crack jokes. The feud looks like it will be great. Hopefully booking actually keeps up this time rather then writing the same promo every week for both guys.

The pre-Rock promo was good, as he twisted it into a way of getting heat, but don't expect him to keep breaking that 4th wall, since WWE still heavily relies on kayfabe.

Plus, it would be lazy of Creative if they rely on real-life shots on Rocky rather then an actual feud.
