I think it was all done masterfully. Punk made his points, but intentionally drew it out to get heat by saying the Champ will do what he wants, bashing the crowd, and talking nonstop for 20 minutes to get people ready for the Rock to walk out. Then Rock's entry was perfectly timed, and he delivered in classic Rock style with the insults and catchphrases, only to turn it around and turn the segment more serious(which in turn forced Punk to elevate his delivery and intensity as well). And a Rock Bottom to square them off 1-1 in the finisher department going into the bulk of the feud. Thumbs up.

Just so you know. I think Punk did great tonight but he by no means "owned" The Rock. Both got their potshots in and both shined like gold tonight. No one owned anyone. Only nut-hanging Punk marks think The Rock got owned.

Honestly man, That was the CM Punk I love when he cuts these kinda promos its just amazing. Everything he said before Rock came out was so true, and he got Rock in the promo when Rock was out. I hope he cuts these kinda promos again. Sorta reminds me of the time around MITB 2011.

It amused me that he is saying he wants to see wrestling, not some craptastic push for the next big thing for those $$$. And calling out the people for wanting crap like Cena or Ryback. Kudos, I totally agree. Especially regards Dolph's match and even Kofi (I meh Kofi, but he did not deserve the squash in 30 seconds).

But he still looks like popeye on crack. And the business still has to make money. It's clear Vince has lost his touch, but Punk's vision of the wwe is weak at best.

i loved his promo i really did and most of what he was saying was true the parts where he implied he doesnt need the fans on any level was just bullshit imo and came off as abit pretentious. Also I still get that feeling that he's trying to get fans to boo him when they just wont well not anyone who's not a kid anyway. And i say this as a huge Punk fan.
