Re: Official The Rock vs. CM Punk Discussion Thread
Both were great. I really don't know how anyone can shit on either of them. I hope this feud last longer than a month.

Difference is that Rock can take his awful jokes and get the crowd invested in them like no other. Stuff like 'Cookie Puss' was terrible but he manages to make them work and get the crowd chanting it. Could you see Cena getting that to work with 'CM Sucks'? That isn't a knack on Cena since not many could make that work, just saying. Plus Rock wasn't doing everything he could to kill the tension so I guess there's that too.
That's one of the big differences between Cena and someone like Seamus too (the jokes thing, I mean). Cena's presentation is done well enough that while some people won't buy into some of the stuff he says you can at least be convinced that 'he does'. His presentation and everything makes it work somewhat. Whereas Seamus, mostly several months ago when they had him doing the "comedy" promos especially... you could tell he didn't buy into that crap he was shilling. It just made for some painfully awkward promos.

As for the promo, I didn't actually care who 'won', they both brought heat to the gunfight and The Rock was in better form tonight than he was during his feud with Cena. It's gonna be a crazyyy ass feud...fact.

Probably from Nas (the GOAT). Still a dope line and unexpected. Who cares where it came from?

Maybe if Dwayne wasn't a shell of his former self, I would actually praise him. Cookie Puss, is he freaking kidding me?
Come on, that's just terrible.

Re: Official The Rock vs. CM Punk Discussion Thread
"Your arms are just too short to box with God." Yeah, I know everyone's quoting it but...fuck. That was incredible. The Rock was The Rock. He did exactly what one who's been watching The Rock over the years would expect. A mix of intensity and comedy with heavy crowd involvement. All things Punk played brilliantly off of. After months of being booked like a complete clown the real CM Punk showed up tonight and he killed it. Most importantly, neither of them disrespected the other by no-selling their words. Gonna be a great build to the Rumble.

It's a Nas song apparently.

Re: Official The Rock vs. CM Punk Discussion Thread
Rock took a crowd Punk killed dead with an overly long promo, and gradually worked them back into the segment. I have a hard time taking Punk seriously next to Rock. lol at Punk saying he's the best guy Rock has faced.
