If you seriously believe that I feel sorry for you. Both were great but, as expected seeing as it was Rock's 1st promo in half a year, Punk was superior, in what was probably his best promo ever. That last line was by far the best thing he's ever said.

Re: Official The Rock vs. CM Punk Discussion Thread
For God's sake you people need to stop nut-riding Punk on the whole "Arms too short to box with God"line. I heard that shit on a rap song years ago, it's really not as original or awe-inspiring as you guys are pretending it is...Jesus. As for the promo, I didn't actually care who 'won', they both brought heat to the gunfight and The Rock was in better form tonight than he was during his feud with Cena. It's gonna be a crazyyy ass feud...fact.

Re: Official The Rock vs. CM Punk Discussion Thread
So from what I can conclude your marks think Punk "won" because of a one liner?
Right. Okay.

Re: Official The Rock vs. CM Punk Discussion Thread
Like I said on the RAW discussion thread, no one showed up anybody tonight, this was one of the rare moments where both guys just absolutely clicked and came out looking better than when they came in.
People complaining about Rock's jokes, Rock had to inject parts of his core character in there to make it unique, had he gone full on shoot mode it wouldn't have been the same since that's Punk's thing. The dynamic and contrasts in style is precisely what makes this feud special.
This not only showed that both guys have chemistry, but it also served as the wet paint to what could undoubtably be an incredibly portrait in the weeks leading to the Rumble. It's moments like these that makes me happy that I still follow this often stale company.
Let's just see where they decide to take this and give both guys their props. They certainly delivered.

Exactly I enjoyed Punk's realistic promo a lot but my taste has always been the Rock with his comedic insults.
I like this contrast promos very much.

You're not supposed to take it literally , it's a metaphor Punk's using because of his lengthy title reign.

The line would have been good if it made sense.

This was important.
Both men were threats to eachother. Even after one promo, it appears as if Rock takes Punk much more seriously than he ever took Cena. And same with Punk. They both sold the PPV perfectly.
The interaction was great to me. The smarks on both sides are unbearable right now though. Stating an opinion and then saying that it's "not debatable." You guys are aware we're on a forum right? Discussion? You know, back and forth? How the fuck is anything in here not debatable?

Oh FFS, some peeps...Rock is the kayfabe babyface in this feud so he can't shoot his mouth and be edgy.
Can't believe you guys were expecting something else.

Re: Official The Rock vs. CM Punk Discussion Thread
Punk's line about god was epic, in fairness.
I don't get into all this "who won" shit, but I was slightly more impressed with Punk simply because he had the line of the night whilst Rock had the worst line of the segment. In general, I enjoyed it though.
Already blows Rock/Cena away. These two have more chemistry.
