Both were fantastic. That was the best promo in months. Punk I'd say did better since he had gold spun before Rock even came out.

I know Rock had some bad jokes, which is nothing new, and they were certainly bad and people might call him out on it. But the big thing is he takes that crap and makes it work. I'm no Rock mark but it's hard not to get you invested in his promos: he's incredible at controlling the crowd even with stuff as bad as 'Cookie Puss'.

It doesn't matter, I'd say Punk had the edge, Rock hit a couple of duff references but the Tampa crowd loved it. Wish Rock had got the crowd chanting "crack head" at Punk would have carried the feud better but I still think it's gunna be the best feud in recent memory.

To think it used to be like this every week.

Punk won it in the end.

His last promo gave me chills. That hasn't happened since... Well, the original Pipebomb promo.

It doesn't matter if you matter was pretty good actually IMO, but yeah overall he delivered better than Rock. the boxing with god part was absolutely scorching.

Punk didn't own Rock, and Rock didn't own Punk. It was an equally great promo from both guys - Punk playing his straight ahead, no bullshit persona to the hilt with some excellent lines, and Rock responding with some intensity of his own. Could've done without the 'COOKIEPUSS' stuff but if it gets the kids more interested in the feud, then it can only be good for both guys. Can't wait to see what they do next.

Rocky was juvenile and dated with the gay baiting and 15 year old catch phrases. It had nothing on a guy who has been champ for 400 days dropping great lines like "I'm the most dangerous man you've ever DREAMED of fighting. Your arms are too short to box God."

The Rock is just a nostalgia kick, a substance-free fan favorite. Punk had the more credible material and dynamite lines. Cookie puss, are you kidding me?

Edit: Punk's beginning material did not seem scripted. That was his own outline plus free-wheeling off his head. It was brilliant.
I like Punk but I am by no means no huge mark but I've got to give credit where it is due tonight. He was scintillating for half an hour.

What I have noticed on twitter though is people tuned in just when The Rock come out and I saw a lot of praise for Punk from them. Some were saying how they were very impressed with Punk and had never even seen him wrestle before. This is the sort of great business The Rock brings. The older fans may start to tune in when The Rock is on TV and if it means they are introduced to talents like CM Punk then it can only help.

Hats off to both men.

As a huge fan of both i'd have to say Punk not only because he didnt say much but what he did say was very hardhitting and you can tell The Rock knows how good Punk is and Rock was even a little hesitant everytime Punk gave his retort. Overall though it was a very intense segment and i really enjoyed it.
