The Rock returns to Raw on Jan. 7
BY JAMES WORTMANPage 1 of 1December 30, 2012

The WWE Universe will smell what The Rock is cooking when “The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment” returns to Raw on Jan. 7, live in Tampa, Fla.

The Great One will no doubt have a few eyebrow-raising surprises in store for the momentous first Raw of 2013. Revelry won’t be the only thing on The Rock’s mind that night, however, as he prepares to compete for the WWE Title at the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event on Jan. 27.

The WWE Champion — not to mention the millions and millions of The Rock’s fans — won’t want to miss the iconic Superstar’s exciting return to Tampa for the first time in a decade. Experience the first Raw of 2013 by tuning in at 8/7 CT on USA Network, or be part of the action live and in person!

Inspiring as usual from The GOAT. Just to see this knowing his story is enough. Must feel great for him to be able to do something like that.

Never watched it before. Nice. I thought that they stopped doing these little promos promoting the PPVs during the RAW replays with Michael Hayes around October 1999. First time I'm seeing this vid of Rock after SVS. Wonder if Rock continued to do it in 2000. Always great to see these rare talkshow vids from that period, there's also one of Rock on a cooking show.

As for the RTWM 2003, obviously nothing was on Hollywood Rock's league but along with that I thought that his segments with Bischoff were awesome. You can feel the great chemistry between them even before that during the backstage segment in July 2002 before Vengeance. Then in 2003 it worked even better in terms of the dynamics with Rock as a heel. Watching them together makes me want to see Rock with Eric and a WCW type environment around him. Rock and Bischoff with the nWo would have been money.

That's what I found after WWE ruined YouTube but there were a lot of segments between them during that run.

The level of naturalism in their interaction is unbelievable considering these two guys hardly knew each other at that time. Performance on the highest level.

If CM Punk loses the WWE title at Royal Rumble does he get a rematch?

Im in the small minority that thinks CM Punk will retain at Royal Rumble.
I do think The Rock should win the title for a short reign and I do believe that CM Punks title reign is coming to an end and he needs to drop the title and move on to another challenge (most likely HHH or The Undertaker at Wrestlemania).

1. The Rock winning seems too predictable.

2. CM Punk has held the title for 400 days +. In my opinion it makes little sense that CM Punk has kept the title for over a year against and has overcome so many opponents and challenges but then loses the title to a part timer on the first opportunity.

But lets say CM Punk does lose the title to The Rock at Royal Rumble then does that mean CM Punk will have a rematch at the following RAW. Is The Rock schedule to appear at the following RAW?

I hope it doesn't have any interruption and is a straight forward match that goes down as a 5 star classic match. But I have suspicions that either Ryback, The Undertaker or The Shield may play a part.

CM Punk - Dolph Ziggler - Daniel Bryan - Cody Rhodes - Damien Sandow - Seth Rollins - Wade Barrett - Dean Ambrose - Roman Reigns - Christian - Alberto Del Rio

Shawn Michaels - Stone Cold - Chris Jericho - The Undertaker - Bret Hart - Roddy Piper -- Mick Foley

Yokozuna - British Bulldog - Macho Man Randy Savage - Eddie Guerrero

Samoa Joe - Bully Ray - Sting - Austin Aries

Paul Heyman - Jim Cornette - Paul Bearer

Re: If CM Punk loses the WWE title at Royal Rumble does he get a rematch?

Well heres how its going to go down...

Rock and Punk face off in the middle of the ring. They lock up the gong rings and the lights go out. Everyone starts chanting Taker. Next thing you know Cena is in the ring and AA's Rock and Punk. Taker's music hits and he starts walking to the ring. Gong rings again and Sting decends from the rafters and hits Cena with a bat. Taker is still walking down to the ring while Sting has Punk in a scorpion deathlock. Lesnar's music hits and he runs down to the ring and knocks over Taker, breaking his hip in the process. Lesnar then begins to kill everyone in the ring and pins their lifeless corpes.

He'll probably be in the chamber match where The Rock defends the title.

I'm still hoping that he'll hold off his rematch clause until Wrestlemania, giving us Rock vs. Cena vs. Punk (because we all know that the only alternative is Cena/Rock 2).

Rock losses to Punk, but wins Rumble. He can't be around to defend the title on the way to wrestlemania.
