To the point that a 2.5 is considered "okay" nowadays. Since Punk appeared about 3-4 times every week when ratings were at their lowest and they have gone up in the past few weeks when he's made minor 5 minute appearances, it's safe to say he's a flop that failed to deliver on par with the expectations for him. It's not all his fault, but he's certainly at fault and there's only so long you can use the "shit product" as the scapegoat.
And comparing him to Tensai just shows what a flop he is. That you have to compare him to someone who was doomed from the start with a stupid gimmick to prove he's not a flop... lol.

meh ratings, ratings, ratings. the product is shit isn't a scapegoat when outside of him or one other person there really is no reason to tune in for RAW or Smackdown. This is the truth. Blaming it all on Punk is just silly and LOL at expecting him to change all of that around on his own without any actual help from the company themselves as they continue to stick him in terrible programs and flip flop back and forth with his character. I was using tensai to show you what a obvious flop is and that Punk isn't one because he's A, over, B been champion for over a year and still counting and C garnering interest and discussion when the rest of the show has nothing.
I also don't like how you're some ratings specialist, its stupid to care so much about them in an era where ratingzzz barely matter in WWE anymore. What are they competing with for ratings? As long as they maintain a certain rating that's all that matters. Should fans even care so much about ratings for a show that's not risking cancellation? Its a stupid argument for who's a flop and who isn't when wrestling isn't popular at all anymore and outside of Punk, Cena and AJ and Team Hell No there really aren't many people worth tuning in for. Unless you have actual proof people were tuning out when Punk was at his hottest its just a smear attempt at him.

It is what it is, though. And I didn't blame it all on Punk. I just told the truth which is that he's a flop as a top guy. And he's over? I don't watch anymore until The Rock returns but from what little I've seen, Punk's crowd reaction is completely dead compared to when he was a face. On his one-year title reign celebration, he got total silence and even when mocking a real life heart attack, the crowd barely reacted. Unless they're in a smarky town, I don't think he gets much reaction. Hell, the cage match with Lawler got "boring" chants. (well deserved)
And a flop is someone who gets pushed in hopes of leading us to a new era but his push results in a complete 180 of that. Punk exemplifies that. Given a hot angle to run with and outside a handful of smarks that came back, there was no boost of interest in the product.
As for proof of people tuning out... his first main event spot after being champion was a complete flop in that 6 man tag match with Zack Ryder and D-Bryan. (night after TLC) His match with D-Bryan around May actually lost viewers and another one of his main event spots in that match with Tensai also lost viewers, lmao. And the go home show to MITB 2011 got a low 2.9 before that became a number to celebrate. And the only reason I "care" about ratings at this point is because they provide more entertainment than Raw does. That's how bad the shows are. And Punk is one of many reasons (possibly the top one) why I'm bored of the product.

Re: Official The Rock WWE Championship Discussion
hopefully rock doesn't get the title back because it won't do shit for WWE in the long term and will still fail to garner interest from the casuals or mainstream since its too many years too late. Rock should have came back in 2006 or something.

Not really. He's a much bigger star in Hollywood and to the general mainstream today compared to 6/7 years ago. Everyone knows who he is today. He came back at the right time last year (can't believe it's soon to be 2 years). With Fast Five on the way, his star power was bigger than ever and now that his movie career has hit its peak, him becoming WWE Champion will bring some much needed relevance to WWE that nobody else from the roster can. (including Punk, who's star power is nonexistent)

Unless a face Cena takes it away from him, a big star will be made.

Rock was too much into his Hollywood career at that time and besides, Vince was more interested in making Cena the next big babyface of the company than bringing The Rock back.

Exactly. Rock taking that belt to Hollywood gives the exposure Vince has been begging ever since;
A. Rock became a big star.
B. The ratings went to hell.
