I actually think it wouldn't benefit Punk, everything that Punk could say, has been said by Cena a year ago, theirs a lot of easy stuff Rock could throw at Punk.

Imagine him being something similar to Billy Gunn 1999 "Ow Dear God, Ive been Champion for 365 days but everybody still thinks I absolutely SUCK!"

I think you should expect plenty of "DWAAAAAAAAYYNES" but I doubt he'll do much 'shooting' he'll probably say his movies suck. I'd be really surprised if he goes down the "im here your not here route".

Worried? LOL. Punk has no credibility saying anything while standing in Rock's presence, it will look like some bitter fan trying to get noticed like the ones in the crowd putting their signs in front of the camera. What people don't understand is the reason they're even doing it is to protect their current inferior performers because they would look so out of place in the borders of a wrestling program that they're probably afraid about long term damage to their credibility in the eyes of the weekly viewer. This is the only reason they did it with Cena, to protect his image while attacking a real life person, most funny thing about all of it is that the crowd no-sold him every time, nobody cared. While Rock created memorable moments and making millions worldwide with everything he chooses to say. From Fruity Pebbles which created a campaign, to Boots To Asses which created sets of items and is chanted in sports games. That's where mediocrity exposed in front of greatness.

I doubt that WWE will make Punk/Rock go down the "Im here and your not" route. Mainly because:
1)Punk I believe is more quick thinking and sharper on the mic than Cena(in responses to stuff others say in promos, Punk is a cheeky prick really).

2)Punk is a heel and is far less protected image wise than Cena(the top face).

3)Punk doesn't give a shit any more.

Either way, whatever happens, its only 2 or 3 episodes long of a feud, so I am going to guess it will be based on the WWE Title and respect. Not the crap Cena/Rock had earlier this year.

The segments suffer whenever someone starts saying little insider things or using the characters' real names. 99% of the crowd probably doesn't know or care what their real names are. They come to watch wrestling storylines and matches. You'll notice whenever Cena did it last year or whenever Punk does it, the crowd responds with a big "eh?" or just kinda doesn't responds at all. Crowd reaction dies because the general audience doesn't care about that stupid shit.

It's pandering to the tiny 1% of fans who make up the IWC. They know the guys sitting at the computer watching a crappy stream will chuckle or say "OHHH MY GOD PUNK TOTALLY OWNED TRIPLE H JUST THEN, HE CALLED HIM PAUL. AND HE SAID DWAYNE INSTEAD OF THE ROCK, HE'S SO FUCKING COOL SO I'M GONNA DO THAT TOO".

It's pandering to the worst fans in the worst and most desperate way possible. Its worse than any other type of cheap heat/cheap pop.

The lead up to Rock/Cena was by FAR the worse buildup for a *Mega Match I've ever witnessed because of that crap.

*Brock/Goldberg don't count just for the fact I knew it was gonna be shit with either guy not willing to job.

Don't help when both were about to fuck off from the company anyway.
