With Rock, it's interesting because I either really really loved his promos, or I didn't like them at all since his return in 2011 (well, except for one in the list below). The ones that I loved are (in no order):
1) 2011 return promo
2) Rock/Litte Kid "John Cena" (before the Miz portion, which coupled with that music in the background sucked imo)
3) Rock's Facebook/Youtube promo on John
4) Rock's promo at Survivor Series (I was there live for that Building went crazy for him when he appeared)
5) The first and second skits of the Boston history promos (if there were only two... those are the only ones I've allowed myself to remember )
6) Rock Concert
Rock's been really hit or miss for me since his return, but I could watch those promos a lot, especially the Rock with the kid playing Cena, the Facebook promo and the first skit of the Boston history (second one was awesome, but I liked the first one more by a considerable margin).
I just really wish Rock could for one night leading up to the Rumble, come out in his old 1998 gear (which I understand according to Rock316AE they were given to Jerry Lawler, but he still has one or two of them expensive shirts, right?), talk deep-voiced and slow like he did back then, and just cut a promo with Punk and rip into him. It could potentially destroy Punk, but then again Punk is a heel who's been getting destroyed anyway week in week out, so it wouldn't even matter at this point I suppose. That's the Rocky that made me mark for him as a kid and even though I understand Rock has evolved past that, going back to that one night wouldn't hurt. Even Cena went old-school with his rap to Rock. If Rock wasn't doing the whole concert thing that night, that would've been the perfect time for that and for them to be face to face.

Rock's Survivor Series is not only one of my favorites since he returned, but one of my favorite promos in a long, long while. It was obvious that everything was off the top of the dome. Rocky was just exuding electricity. Everything just sounded like it was coming from his heart.
The crowd reaction/excitement added a lot to it too, I loved the way they interacted with the great one.

Yeah, I was there live and we hung onto his every word.
Tbh even the Hollywood Rock (the one that fought Hogan, not the pussy/joke that fought Goldberg) would be amazing..
Hollywood rock can never happen again, the reason is way to simple, Hollywood rock is truly the embodiment of what heel entertainment is, he would fucking bury the whole world if he was Hollywood rock, sorry HW rock is way too over powered.
two and a half months from now, the rock will be in the same ring exchanging words with CM Punk..........My fave superstar of today vs my fave superstar of all time...........I still want the rock to win but Cm Punk is Fucking AWESOME!!!!........Don't judge me other rock fans i just like CM Punk.

Reason: triple post
It’s hard to believe Dwyane Johnson almost never became The Rock. And the irony is that it was his failure in one arena—literally—that led to his success in another. Johnson was on a full scholarship at the University of Miami, suiting up with Ray Lewis and Warren Sapp. When a back injury sidelined his career for good—even the CFL couldn’t find a place for him—he turned to pro wrestling. Unbelievably, that required trimming down—going from 280 to 260 pounds. Under his new persona, The Rock, Johnson quickly became a fan favorite—and it wasn’t long before Hollywood saw his potential as a bankable star. And so for his role in The Mummy Returns, The Rock slimmed down yet again, shedding another 15 pounds in 4 months using a high-intensity resistance-training program. Want to get jacked like The Rock?
With his old exercise plan, the Rock worked one body part per day, then did 45 minutes of cardiovascular exercise. But he simply wasn't using enough of his body to fight fat. Trainer Billy Beck upped him to four body parts per workout (training each body part three times a week rather than once) and cut back on the cardio.
"You can do five sets of each exercise--all barbell flat-bench chest presses, for example--or split it up into two exercises, like three sets of dumbbell flat-bench chest presses and two sets of dumbbell incline chest presses," says Beck. When you're used to this, slip in some supersets--for example, perform a set of chest presses and then, without resting, do seated rows. After that, start changing--everything. "The body will adapt to any stress placed on it consistently," says Beck. "That's when a plateau strikes." Vary rest periods, loads, lifting tempo, number of sets and repetitions, or the frequency with which you work each body part.
Monday
Resistance training: Chest, back, biceps, calves; 5 sets, 15-20 reps, 30-second rest periods.
Cardio: 5-minute warmup, 12 minutes at a high-intensity clip, 5-minute cooldown.
Sunday
One the 7th Day, The Rock rests.

I see you man, all good
This is money:
Spoiler for The GOAT:
The SVS promo was classic. Definitely Top 5 since he came back and one of the best of all time. The Rock standing backstage in his wrestling gear, cutting a LIVE 8 minutes promo on the spot like he did week after week, talking about his history, his career and accomplishments was surreal. Then the actual entrance with the crazy ovation(goosebumps material)and match made it an unbelievable sight. I loved wrestling like it was 99 again that night. According to a former writer who was there backstage at MSG, the entire roster and crew were standing around Rock in awe watching him create magic. Off-air with an awesome interaction of Rock and the audience. LOVED the atmosphere, nothing like MSG:
(Should have been on the DVD)

I forgot about the night after Mania. That was also a good promo. It was refreshing to see Rock not have to talk about any of the Cena feud material for once again. He was on fire that night and felt really good.

The night after Wrestlemania in Miami is a promo I can watch over and over. The energy in the crowd is insane and The Rock is ON. I never thought someone talking for 15 minutes could be so re-watchable.
I agree that one or two moments were less than stellar, but the difference is that most of today's guys have one or two good promos amongst loads of average or bad ones. The Rock has one or two less than perfect promos amongst loads of ridiculously good ones. That's why the notice the odd average promo.
