Nothing. Cena threw this BS on RAW and most of them probably never watched Rock when he was full time anyway. If they really knew the process of Rock's career, they will know that Rock always evolved and adapted year after year his entire career. This is no different. Nobody is more aware to the crowd interaction and what they're ready and want to see/hear than The Rock. His promo when he came back before NWO 2003 was a masterpiece and a prime example of it. He threw everything about his character aside and just talked point after point on every problem he had with the audience. They started chants, waiting for Rock's reaction, he mocked them. They wanted to sing along with him, he cut them off. Then after he clarified with teaser after teaser(Talking to his agent after he said how much he loves them, mocking their city etc)that they really want to see this side of him, he turned in one line.
"Now you're going to get the different Rock, you're going to get the Rock you want, you're going to get The Jabroni Beating, Pie Eating, Trail Blazing, Eyebrow Raising.....*FULL HEEL MODE*.....crystal clear, have no fear, makes more money in one night than you all make in a year! Climb a tree, scratch an itch, makes Hulk Hogan The Rock's little bitch!". Brilliant. When they want to teach the kids in ANY industry on how you work and manipulate a crowd to perfection, they should show them this segment.
As for the Rumble finish. Rock Bottom/People's Elbow combo would be great. I don't think Rock won with that since Hogan at WM.
I still remember this promo and the reaction on people as the promo go long like it's a DIRECT REAL talking between him and every fan on the arena no superstar ever i mean the legends from all the eras can reach this type of connecting with the fans and back to 2003 we talk about adults not kids of today that make it harder it's like u want it in character done OR the real person here to ya because at time people were still divided some cheer some don't he menage to turn them all and in the tornto promo MISSION ACCOMPLISHED shortest character to be both created and getting over in recent memory HOLLYWOOD ROCK
Didn't Rock used to do the arm flick and eyebrow when he stood at the titantron and also on the turnbuckle? seems they left that out except for the eyebrow turnbuckle, Rock's face looks a little strange as well.
I don't want Rock to revert completely back to how he was 10 years ago. Obviously, his character has evolved since then but my only criticism is that, at times, I do feel like we've got Dwayne Johnson the person instead of The Rock the character. It's partially the fault of that stupid ass Cena/Rock, I'm sorry, John/Dwyane, program they gave to us earlier this year that enabled it to happen. I don't want to see Dwayne trying to get shit to trend on twitter for 15 minutes out of a 20 minute promo and then he spends the last 5 minutes being The Rock. I'd much rather he be what he was in his first return promo in 2011. That's the Rock I personally want to see but he doesn't get to be that Rock when they put him in these ridiculous shoot style feuds. I'm pretty sure we'll be seeing Dwayne/Phil by the time the Rumble rolls along instead of a kickass Rock/Punk program over the WWE title. Oh joy.

Good point and you too Rock316AE. It has to be this whole shoot style thing thats going on, and the fact that it really blurs that line from reality and what not. It really sucks imo, and it brings me back to the video I posted a few days ago. A fan made video hyping up Rock/Cena years before it actually came about. I know that this is the direction WWE wants to go and that things are more "real" so to speak now but its doing more harm to story lines, characters and angles imo than good. Im a traditional guy who loves the way it used to be done, and Im sure there are those who like it and would tell me to get with the times, but this is one thing that shouldn't be touched. Look at Taker/Trips the actual build to the feud and match was so much better because they kept it from within the WWE reality. It had a true point to it and it was all Taker/Trips and not Paul/Mark.
I guess when you see Rock out there and being free again such as (SS Promo, his return, off air segments, stuff with Bryan etc.) he is still as much as "The Rock" as he ever was. But like you said Starbuck, if Rock is put in a feud where his name is called out, his decision to leave and passion being questioned and stuff like that, its hard to get into. I watch WWE to escape from reality. On a side note, really wished Rock would go back to the sleeveless tees, track pants and glasses again for casual promo work lol
Rock/Punk will be going this direction by the looks of it (hope I am wrong) but like Rock/Cena I wont let the disappointing build ruin my enjoyment from seeing the match.
I noticed in the game they're focusing on the 97-99 part of the Attitude Era only, which is a shame, the 2000-02 stuff had some golden points in terms of characters, storylines, and moments
but it's understandable because that was the controversial half of the attitude era
oh well nothing's perfect I guess, I really wished they used the 1999-01 theme, that to me is the perfect Rock theme

Rock Bottom or People's Elbow to sealed the deal for the 10th World Title? I'm thinking after the big spinebuster/People's Elbow combo to Punk for the 1-2-3 would be fitting seeing as the feud kicked off with Punk intercepting Rock doing that move on Raw 1000. Rock Bottom would obviously be awesome too. That's if Rock wins of course...
I can see Rock trying to put Punk over big so *If Rock Wins* I can see them doing the 2nd Rock Bottom Spot with Punk kicking out and them trying to hit home the point that the 2nd Rock Bottom beat Cena but couldn't beat Punk or I could be wrong and it just takes two.
I don't think he'd have the energy to pull that off that late into the match. They could've worked the kip up into the Rockbottom spot when Cena was doing the people's elbow for an even greater shock factor but it didn't happen. Would've been epic though.
