So if they go with Brock screwing Rock out of the title at the Rumble and they do indeed go with Punk/Ryback and Rock/Brock at Mania, that means Cena has to challenge The Streak this year? I would be fine with that but the only thing is the WWE Title match will probably be third on the card again as far as importance and that's if Triple H doesn't have a match too.
yeah, with HHH hanging around and Cena needing to be in an important match, it's hard to level Punk and the title as high as it should be. Maybe Taker will break this year. Also agree with Rock316AE in Taker's case, they may need to do something now or they may never have another chance.

I take what SummerLove said into consideration and he's right. At this point WWE doesn't really care about the placement of the WWE and especially the World Title on the card these days. If they have a star-studded main event then it's going to get the most focus + build on the RTWM and close the show.
Fair enough, but this is where star power is needed to be produced, because even with Hogan vs Rock on a mania card HHH vs Jericho ended the show. If Orton vs Sheamus is to happen, doubt it's gonna be an opener because Orton is in it. May very well be before the WWE title match.

I agree that those two matches should headline this year's event. They will just have to be creative enough to figure out something to make the following year bigger. I say use what you have available to you to make the best show possible. WrestleMania 30 is going to get even more hype just for being number 30 anyway just like 20 and 25. I don't think they will run out of big match options if Rock/Brock and Taker/Cena are used this year. If Austin is healthy enough and agrees to work one more program, that could be huge for WM30.
True, I never got why people are talking about "saving" matches at WM. For example if it's a situation like doing Lesnar/Cena at Summerslam instead of a B PPV like ER, sure. But for WM, you need to create the most attractive card every year. There are always fresh combinations, like you said, Austin's return match. Along with maybe Rock and Taker matches, HBK and Goldberg are possibilities. You always need to think about this year. WM became a make or break event for WWE, it's the biggest factor in a successful year.
If they go with the fresh matches that everybody want to see. They can also do more fresh interactions like Ryback/HHH, which can be an interesting match.
WM card like Rock/Lesnar, Taker/Cena, Mysterio/Cara, Ryback/HHH, Orton/Sheamus etc, in New York is going to do record business and create the most interest. In this case I get the WCW vibe from WWE of booking all the matches that nobody cares about/or saw 100 times already, when the audience is dying to see dream matches like Bret/Hogan.
There's potential for an unbelievable Wrestlemania card given the talent available in 2013, but cynical it may be I just feel like WWE will give us the safe and utterly boring choices. Ideally, I'd like to see:
The Rock vs Brock Lesnar
The Undertaker vs John Cena
CM Punk vs Triple H, or maybe CM Punk vs Ryback
But, knowing the WWE we will probably get -
The Rock vs John Cena II (SNOOZEFEST)
Triple H vs Brock Lesnar II (SNOOZEFEST)
CM Punk vs The Undertaker (the only upside to the rest of the potentially horrible card)

I can't be the only one who thinks Punk vs The Undertaker would be a terrible match. I just wouldn't buy CM Punk being able to do damage to Undertaker. It's pretty much an automatic win for 'Taker, and it'd be an even bigger travesty and stain on WWE history than the length of Punk's current championship reign is if they put him over The Undertaker.
I'd rather see someone who might have a chance of winning face him, like Cena. Or just bring back HBK for "one more match" to finally put him in the dirt.
But I agree that HHH/Lesnar 2 would be boring. So would HHH/Taker tbh. I hope they don't waste Lesnar or Taker on HHH again. And I agree 100% on Rock vs Brock. That's the biggest possible match left of available wrestlers imo. Punk/Ryback would be interesting too, but only assuming Punk hasn't kept the title that long (a puke-inducing thought).

Just read several pages in this thread for the first time. People really need to stop kissing The Rock's ass so much. I'm a big Rock mark but a big group of you need to stop being so overbearing in your support, its ridiculous and almost making me turn against my childhood hero. STOP IT.
Anyway, yeah, If Punk and Rock are gonna shoot on each other, at least its not one of the biggest matches of all time and it makes sense considering Punk's character (being a outspoken loudmouth) where with the Cena and Rock build it made no sense for two pop culture, larger then life icons to be doing some insider shit.

@SinJackal - Really can't see HBK doing anymore matches, he strikes me as a guy that sticks to his word. Judging by his tweets, I don't really think he misses wrestling either.
It might be time for HHH to sit out a Wrestlemania tbh, there's plenty of star power at WM29, we don't necessarily need HHH. Also, If he really stayed 'retired' for long enough, his inevitiable return/retirement match would be bigger. I really don't wanna see him getting the win back over Brock this Mania anyway.
I'm a Rock mark but some peeps in here do take things a bit far imo. Marking out over Rock eating pizzas and cupcakes is a bit much if you ask me lol.
