Rock/Flair had the potential to be a GOAT match if Ric was a few hours younger and it was on a big PPV. Still can't believe that they didn't do it at WM20. Rock/Flair and Foley/Orton was what they should have done. RAW 2002 was a fun match and I'm glad it happened and it's not in the "dream matches" category like Rock/Savage/HBK but to see them working a WM program, stealing the show in the tag match and not actually doing a one on one match on PPV was a big waste. Rock and Flair will always be Top 2 most charismatic and best performers/mic workers of all time, I never saw anyone on that level. Rock/Flair segment even today with Flair in his awesome crazy old man persona would be gold.
If you pay attention to what Rock is trying to do in that match, it's just a masterpiece storytelling and crowd work. I always remembered that spot when Rock, the Top babyface in the industry for more than 3 years at this point, suddenly BAILING out of the ring in heel tactics just to give Flair more crowd support. Started with some mat wrestling, Rock bumping all over the place, made Flair look like a million bucks. When it's not working and the crowd is still not getting it, Rock sends Flair to the corner, and throws a punch, then gives a heel look and the crowd starting to react. Brilliant.
Their WM20 exchange was a spectacle.
"The Limousine-Ridin', Jet-Flyin', Kiss-Stealin', Wheelin'-Dealin', Son of a Gun RIC FLAIR!
Taking on:
The Trail-Blazing, Eyebrow-Raising, Jabroni-Beating, LALALAW, Pie-Eating...Heart-Stopping, Elbow-Dropping, People's Champ THE ROCK!"
After this money promo, you put this on PPV, 500k on the spot.

Ric Flair and the rock should have happened at WM20 as a dream match, imagine the promos leading up to it
the rock will one day walk down that isle as the jabroni beating, pie eating, trail blazing, eye brow raising, don't need no revamping cause the rock is gana be, wwe champion(amazing crowd roar).
Royal Rumble 2013, Cm Punk we commin for you niggah
That night in 2002 felt special. Rock and Flair had amazing chemistry, it's a shame they only ever had one singles match.
Also, those off-air segments between Rock and Miz were gold and better than most of the actual build up to Wrestlemania. Shows us that The Rock hasn't lost a step and was obviously toned down for his exchanges with Cena.
Seeing as Rocky has a ton of films to promote for the first few months of 2013, do we think he'll actually win the strap at the Rumble?
Rock will lose to CM Punk at Royal Rumble 2013 because Brock Lesnar will come out srew him.
I actually hope Rock doesn't win, just so he doesn't face Cena again at Wrestlemania. Does anybody actually want to see a rematch? Especially seeing as there's so many other better alternatives.
I'd prefer Rock/Miz over Rock/Punk tbh. All this shoot style and semi-shoot style shit with Rock's feuds has to stop. I don't want to see Dwayne Johnson. I want to see The Rock. I want him to wear sunglasses dammit! I want a character based program, not a reality based program where all we get is 2 guys whining and bitching over a personal issue. YOU LEFT DA BIZNUS ROCKY I HATE U. KNOW UR ROLE PHIL I LUV DA DUBYA DUBYA E. Ugh. I seriously hope they have more planned for this thing than that. I've see it all before with Rock/Cena and I don't want to see it again.
I agree, I want a proper feud between The Rock and CM Punk, NOT a feud between Dwayne and Phil. I hate all this shoot stuff, and calling each other by their first names is just plain stupid and the least cool thing to do in wrestling. It's a spit in the face of one of the most basic wrestling rules. I don't mind the odd subtle nod to something real life, but keep the bulk of the feud fictional and entertainment based.
It seemed all Cena was interested in doing was taking real shots at Dwayne Johnson. Surely, the main goal is for both guys to make each other look as good as they can be, because that's what sells the feud and makes the most money.
WWE are lucky that when it came to Rock/Cena, the tickets were sold as soon as the match was mentioned. Because they did their best to ruin it all in the build up.
Nobody ever feuds with Undertaker and calls him Mark, do they??
They do it with Rock because he has the Dawyne 'The Rock' Johnson on their website and in his movie titles.
But they fail to realize is the fans don't chant Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson or Dwaaaaaaayne, they chant Rocky and know him as Rock in the wrestling world.
But it seems this is what they do now with Rock and Rock only called him Phillip because Phillip uses Dwayne. It's all fucking silly. UGH
