Re: Official The Rock WWE Championship Discussion
Only current roster guys that I could stomach facing the Rock at Mania are Cena, Punk and Ryback.
Though i'm still hoping it's Brock or Taker or even Hunter, I'm certain there not happening.

They proved that they can have some good stuff on the mic with that 2004 segment. Orton might still have it if he gets out of this 'Viper' shit. And the match is probably the best anyone from the current roster could get out of The Rock aside from D-Bryan.

If that is the case, then Freebird is a very smart man. This CM Punk/Indy/Smark/Heyman/Attitude Era/Anti Cena fad has been going on for way too long now. I still watch for certain wrestlers, but the overall product has been shit ever since CM Punk became leader of Nexus (for no reason) or whenever they started to shove him down my throat. Which I believe was around December 2010. Vince, stop catering to smarks. And stop pushing X-Pac: Main Event Version.

Yeah, heel Orton is more entertaining. Tbh, the match would be good, but he'd need to get back on Vince's good side, they've had him tap out to ADR for some reason and losing to Show has cost him some credibility if he was in the line to face Rock at some point. It doesn't look likely.

Orton is lifeless and boring and wouldn't be any different in a feud with Rock. I'd much rather him face someone like CM Punk or Daniel Bryan.

I would love to see Orton vs Rock as well, they need to stop punishing Orton for some stupid ass wellness policy (fuck morals, especially when it comes to your number 2 guy, business is business). Even I as a Cena fan do not want to see a rematch with Rock unless the other option is Rock vs X-Pac MEV.

I think it might have to do with him being away numerous times this year that he's been used to establish and put over others. The wellness thing was just giving them a better reason for it because he was already jobbing left and right late last year way before it happened. Orton is one of those who still has credibility despite being booked terribly bad, though. Now that Cena's done with, Orton is by far the best option from the roster to face The Rock excluding part-timers like Taker and Lesnar.
Hope Vince comes to his senses and pushes Orton again. He should be moved to Raw again because Smackdown is dead as it is.

Orton ain't that bad lol. Yes... right now he is but has proven in the past how solid he is on the mic and can hold his own against the very best.
Ditch the viper, apex predator crap and have something similar to his legend killer gimmick.

Re: Official The Rock WWE Championship Discussion
lol at Rock/Orton. Not happening for a number of reasons. Orton's no longer at that level, and he's been booked to shit in the last few months. Not to mention he's not dropping the viper gimmick so I don't see the entertainment value in the feud if we get current Orton facing Rock. Plus there are several better options.
Out of the current roster, there are only two guys who have the credibility to face Rock and that's Cena and CM Punk. So the way I see it, for RR and WM, these are the possibilities:
1:
RR- Rock beats Punk
WM29- Cena beats Rock
2:
RR- Punk beats Rock due to outside interference from Cena
WM29- Punk vs Cena vs Rock for the title at WM
3:
RR- Rock beats Punk
WM- Triple threat between Punk, Rock, and Cena for the title
4:
RR- Rock beats Cena
WM29- Punk beats Rock
5:
RR- Cena beats Rock due to outside interference from Punk
WM29- Punk vs Cena vs Rock for the title at WM
6:
RR- Rock beats Cena
WM- Triple threat between Punk, Rock, and Cena for the title
That's all I can see as far as strictly full-time guys who are credible enough to face The Rock. The only other one that *might* be credibly able to face Rock is Ryback depending on where they go with him. I'd hate to see it, but Ryback's definitely on his way up. Not sure if he'll be at that level by the RR though.
