How are the fans ever going to gain attachments to this generation's stars if they keep dragging back the old ones? Let the Rock sit in retirement. He left. He's making movies. Good for him. There's so much talent on the roster to go against the Champ - but we either get Cena v. Punk, round 90,394 or Famous Former Champion who will leave after they win, rendering the storyline moot.

They screwed themselves over with the rematch because majority of the fans already got the result that they wanted to see in the first damn match. The sequel is rarely as good as the first and even if it's for the WWE Championship, the fans will already know who's winning and it won't be as magical as the first where once Rock escaped the STF and 2 AAs, the match became unpredictable. Now Cena is 100% winning and WM 29 will end the same way Rock/Hogan ended at WM 18 with Cena celebrating at first but eventually letting the Rock pose for the fans before the two pose together. Yawn.

Ive already accepted that this match will inevitably happen, to give Cena his win back and big moment the funny thing is it'll most likely backfire and he'll get booed out of the building again, they've already proved theres nothing they can do to get him an even equal reaction to Rocky, especially with a mania crowd.
Only good thing is maybe it means they wont want 2 rematches headlining so we don't get Lesnar/HHH 2, freeing Brock up to go for the streak.

I would have CM Punk vs The Rock at the Rumble only for CM Punk to win and retain and The Rock wins the belt on Raw the next night or at the following PPV before Wrestlemania.

I didn't say "I think Punk would go over", I said I "wanted" Punk to go over, there is a difference between wanting something to happen and believing that it's going to happen.
I know they aren't smart enough to do the right thing here and give Punk the push, but Can't I at least dream about it?!
